This song is as real and honest as it gets. The line that says, "I pray on my way to the liquor store that they lock the door" always gets me. When I was deep in my addiction I would plead for God to STOP ME. I am clean and sober today but, I had to pass through the darkness first.

Very appropriate reaction for a Sunday morning. I'm a retired Marine, and I had a very angry soul when I left the Corp. This allowed all my demons to come front and center. I battled for decades before I just gave control of my life to God. Best decision I ever made. So many of my EX friends, and even my doctors kept telling me I would be dead in this or that amount of time. God just keeps proving them wrong. I know he has a plan for me, I just don't know what it is. All I know, is that I'm at peace in my life for the first time!

AUTHENTIC. We were created through The Word, Y'shua, who is Faithful and True. My wife was the biggest Tom and Nova fan this song had so many straight line connections to her but this song came out 5 months after she lost her battle with consumption at age 31 ive thought so many times maybe just maybe if she had heard this song she might still be her. Personally im so thankful for Tom, Brandon and Nova cause as crazy as it sounds for months after alcohol KILLED my wife alcohol is where i ran to numb everything. I cried harder the first time i heard this song then ever before in my life and from the i started my own program and it only needed 2 STEPS every time im about to go get a bottle i play this song over and over again then i went to the only store in 30 miles from my house and talked to the owner to make it store policy to not seel me alcohol cause its a small town so im able to do that i understand for most people this doesnt work. That store is open 24/7 so i went and locked the doors mysel. IDK maybe Im one of those that Tom and this song saved either way im so greatfull for Tom he has helped me through so many issues over the last few years. Here’s a fact that will blow your mind and make you watch it again. This came out during that virus. Brandon was stuck in Canada and couldn’t enter the US. Tom and Nova built the set in LA and then set the material list and measurements to Brandon in Canada. The job that Nova did with the editing is amazing. You would never realize they are in different countries by watching this video. She did the same with “in god we trust”. Last I heard, Tom and Adam Calhoun have never met face to face, but they’ve still done videos together. Just shows how good Nova really is.

I catch most of her twitch lives and I haven’t heard her mention anything else about it. I have no doubt once she finally releases it, it will be great. Everything she touches turns to gold. I don’t have a young child anymore but I’m betting I’ll end up buying it anyway.

Love this song so much, and your so right...this song helped sooo many folks when Tom, Nova & Bramdon released it. I believe so many people feel ashamed to feel this way & they shouldn't! As the Lord is there for us to help us through these moments in life that so many of us go through. I'm not very religious, but I remember this song nearly bringing me to my knees & also bringing me to absolute tears on many occasions, it's just now in this last year I can listen to this beautiful song without bawling my eyes out by the end of it. And, as much as I adore Tom & his music ( he KILLED this track) Brandon had my favorite verse in this one, tho, it was so beautiful & poetic..and true for many of us, I felt it in my soul. And, the line where Tom sings "I don't believe anyone will miss me and I'm on my knees, tell me God, are you listening?" Oh damn, that line hit home for thousands of us! Especially me! I have fallen off a time or 2 and this song sometimes has the same affect as talking to good when I feel ashamed or weak. When I regain my strength and control this song is helpful to keep going but this song is like looking in a mirror when that the last thing you want to do. I love this song but it certainly makes me feel different depending on we’re I’m at at the time…. Ok I’m done rambling😂

The first time I saw this video/heard this song, I cried. Especially, when I heard "I don't believe anybody will miss me". I could totally relate to those words and have questioned my worth to people in my life. Sometimes the self worth, self love is nonexistent. It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless. This song hits in the soul!

"You're not supposed to question God." I grew up with that mentality. Then, I dug into more of the Bible than a few verses. Moses questioned God. Moses pretty much argued with God. Noah questioned God. Even Jesus questioned God. ("Why have you forsaken me?") God certainly takes no issue with us questioning Him. He desires that intimate relationship. If we have no intimate, personal relationship with God, our questions are attacks, based in lack of belief... based in hate. When we have a personal relationship with God, our questions are based in trust...not hate. We trust Him, but when something seems..."off,"...we question Him, because we don't understand...yet. Sometimes we have to go throug the hard times to understand His plan. It usually doesn't make sense during the hard times, but once we get through it all...we get it...and we become even closer to Him, BECAUSE of the hard times...because we can finally realize His plan.

This is by far my favorite Tom song and wow, what a reaction, one of the best I've seen so far. Tom has a rare ability to bring out the best in other artists when they do collaborations with him, to me, Adams best writing was done on the colab with Tom and here is some of Brandon's best writing. I love Brandon's music, Dad Bod will always be my summer anthem, but his lines in Church took the cake. It's easy to forget that you don't have to have thoughts of self harm to have these thoughts, no one will miss me, etc... even the thoughts about religion. "I'm talkin to God but he don't hear me and my demons are there always listening. " every person of any faith has felt that way at some point, period, it's so easy to let those demons back in because God doesn't answer you within your time period or doesn't give you the answer you want. But it's the next lines that always get me. " I'm on a ship in a bottle so say goodbye at the shore break the glass and you'll find me, I'm not who I was before... I'm a wreck in a bottle I wasn't built for a war." To paint such a picture with words. we're not who we used to be but we're still fragile like a ship in a glass bottle, it's easy to break and go back, we're not built for the war going on inside of ourselves. I don't have an alcohol addiction or anything like that but those words speak multitudes to me. To be able to paint that picture is a gift not many people have. I love Tom and he's really all I listen to any more but I feel Brandon out shone him on this one.

Brandon is Tom's oldest and closest friend, original HOG drinking buddy back in the day, they even have matching tattoos - See You Tomorrow - referring to them not remembering their nights out together, but they've both moved on from that now. #HOG UK

I agree with you. Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to see what's going on. You don't need to save the world, saving the world is really hard when all you need to do is to save the life of one person. Because you may or may not see the struggle that person is going through and extending your hand as help may be all the person needs. This song, to me, talks about the everyday struggle we go through. It's about being human and the frailties that come with it. Great reaction and I think I know what you mean when you couldn't find the words. It's really indescribable. Music sometimes does that to us.

Loved the reaction! Please do a reaction to Tom's song "Angels" It's another real song. A few years back,Tom was planning on taking a break for the Christmas holiday's and suddenly felt he needed to write a song for his fans. For the ones who were or felt alone on the Holiday's and feeling down, he wanted them to know they weren't alone. He wrote and recorded the song in the same day. Nova didn't have a solo on here because she didn't struggle with the same addictions that Tom and Brandon did, and she didn't want to take away from their story. That's what I read somewhere anyway! I love everything they've done so far. Truth, time after time.

I've never battled addiction to drugs or alcohol, but I do know PTSD and mental anguish. I believe they both live in the same place in our minds. I learned something that helped me through years of warring with God in anger. I always remembered WHO I was talking to, and kept it honest and respectful, even in moments of agony. And He showed me that He loved me by taking me by the hand to walk with me as I raged and grieved. God is always with us, and He always wants the best for us. We just have to want it for ourselves and be ready to follow His will. My situation worked out for my good and for His glory, even if I didn't see it when it was happening. Thank you, Lord, for never giving up on me.

i understand his words. we fall so far and pray for help. God gives us the strength to stop but once sober all of what we have done and feel are laid out raw. now we have to deal with that sober, no hiding. its hard and hurts like hell. God will not make everything disappear. he will give you the clarity and strength to do it. its not easy. Nova's pain shows your loved ones are going thru hell with you and praying for the same.

God bless you and this channel. As a Christian myself, I agree with what you said but I would add this...what you spoke of is the capital C Church. The small c church is absolutely vital to the growth of a Christian. Not only the community but the accountability. Love love love your reactions!! 1st time on your channel…. Faith is like a seed, it depends on how you water and feed it. Nurture it and it will grow, neglect it and it will shrivel. We all struggle but keep the Faith and do good works.

Church i would say is the spiritual hospital, but even the doctors are patients. Sometimes going to get treatment at the hospital means it does get worse before you can get better.

This song made me a Tom Macdonald fan with sober. I didn’t find god till I quit drinking I was raised in the church. I don’t know if church turned its back on me or if I turned my back on it. Either way 15 years later found GOD and not turning my back on him again.

Nova did a song called Dear Nova I believe she had depression, she has weak lungs and now crazy allergies. I don’t believe she had an alcohol or drug problem. But don’t quote me on it.

After losing my son I left the “Church” I still believed but was so angry that every prayer was how much I hated God and how could he betray me this way again after 6 miscarriages! But one day after reading the book The Shack I broke and I let him back into my life and wanted our relationship back! God knows the bigger picture and placed me somewhere to help women who had lost I am forever thankful and blessed!❤

I don't think we aren't allowed to question God, I think we need to ask the right questions. Instead of asking God why, ask him what am I supposed to learn from this, so you can learn from it and move on. Remember what ever we do to ourselves, God will use it for his Glory.

I have never had addiction to alcohol or drugs, but I know what it feels like to call on God and him not being there, because life was very very hard and waiting for years and years for God to do something about the situation because I tried everything at my disposal to change the way my life was and nothing I did changed anything and things slowly got worse as time went on, so I got to the point after 40 years I said to God I fuckin hate you, even though I know I can't stop believing in you because I want to live and have eternal life, I still fuckin hate you, then I asked myself why do I hate you, the answer was because I didn't get what I wanted, at that moment I realized I was acting like a hurt child, so I took a hard look back on my life and realized God the Father was always there, even when I could not see him because God the Father carried me through every single last horrible moment and gave me a dream to hold onto that helped me keep my sanity and love in my soul and I realized I didn't have what I wanted but I had what I needed and one more thing, I might not get the things I wanted in this life but I will when I get to heaven as long as I stay the course and be faith and true 😊 the other thing I realized was at least my life was not as bad as the "way of the cross" that Jesuis experienced after the moment in the garden that I didn't have and have to go through a life full of that type of horrible life, I actually had blessing in my life at different moments in my life that made it bearable, then after all that horrible horrible existence then goto heaven; so after realizing all that I thought to myself I needed to be a warrior for God the Father instead of child and after I started doing that things changed ❤️🔥
