I believe this was the first time that Lara and Dimash sang together and he was thrilled, after studying her work for so long. Lara was sick when she turned up for this performance and they were unsure if she could sing at all. Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event: • Igor Krutoy, the pianist, is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed . Igor is known to be the godfather of russian musical scene. • This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with”. Thru their collaboration, Lara has brcome absolutely massive in Russia, eastern europe and central asia. • This also explains why the song does not expose more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton. • Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable • Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. She gives room to Aida to do it instead and Aida uses this magnificently. • It was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara (he is a fan since he is a child and he covered several of her songs such as Adagio, Love of Tired Swans, Mademoiselle Hyde, Know, …): look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it … • Lara has been apparently a big inspiration for Dimash in the way he sings and build his songs : using extreme vocal dynamics for better dramatic effect, slowly building up songs up to an epic climax, emphasizing on phrasing and diction to reveal the meaning of words, switching between speaking and singing in the same sentence to accentuate the storytelling, … He learned all this from her. • Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it is her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there. She also is married to a sicilian man • Look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara • Also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀 • I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons on a daily basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers. • Final note to say that Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics of the song Your Love for Dimash

Aida is a very famous opera lyrical soprano, from russia (tatar ethnicity) who has been member of different prestigious opera across the world: Vienna Staatsoper, Opera National de Paris, Mariinsky Theater in St-Petersburg,… She also has been performing in huge events such as 2018 Opening and closing ceremony soccer World Cup in Russia, 2018 Bastille Day concert in Paris (one of the 3 main guests at the concert at Eiffel Tower just before the fireworks on the France National Fest Day), …

Final comment on my side to mention that this is the only time Lara and Dimash sang together so far (there were rumors at some point before the pandemic that Lara and Igor wrote a duet song for them to perform together but we didn’t hear about it anymore recently). You will find on YT many "duets" but these are fan mashups created from Dimash’s and Lara’s separate renditions of the same song (Adagio, Mademoiselle Hyde, Know/Ascolata la Voce, Love is like a dream, Love of Tired Swans). Many are weird but some are really good and you could believe it is a real duet if you don’t pay attention to some background details.

Lara Fabian was Igor Krutoy's ( the bald head Piano player - he is famous Composer in Russia) Muse for the longest time, and he wrote / composed many songs for her /with her - Love of Tired Swans, Mademoislle Hyde, Know, etc.. they parted ways because she needed to be back to her family and "Home"... and when Igor met Dimash , he came out of retirement to work with Dimash! He was so very happy to be able to compose and collaborate with such a genius as Dimash and he can finally compose anything he wanted and have someone ( Dimash) be able to perform it! Like like with Lara but not in the degree as Dimash - his range are much higher and larger than hers... You should watch the interviews with Igor where he talks about Dimash 9 Russian with English subs !!! So when you see him playing piano on stage with anyone basically, you know that he composed the music!
