FOREVER1 was SO IMPORTANT for the entire K-Pop industry! THE BIGGEST Girl Group of the Second Generation celebrated FIFTEEN YEARS since their debut as a group! It CAN be done, they proved it! I remember when Forever 1 came out, people legit cried. As an anniversary release of a legacy group it actually had an impact, with other older groups feeling empowered to make similiar releases soon after.

By the Way, Forever 1 was the reunion song. The MV is focused to show the members whereabouts when they're not together, like... Everyone is doing their own thing, but at the end of the day, they're still together, they're still one. You can watch a part where they're celebrating their success as a group, and then each solo shots, you can watch those who went on to further their acting and presenting careers (Sooyoung, Yoona, Yuri, Sunny, Seohyun) they are placed within a backdrop that mimics a red-carpet event, photoshoot, or a glamourous interview. And you can watch also those who continued their singing career as soloists (Taeyeon, Tiffany and Hyoyeon) who are singing against a grand theatre, the private jet (Tifanny left Korea for a long time and went to the US) and an enthused audience on the dance floor, respectively.

Getting into SNSD is something I have never regret, their discography is so vast and you really see their impact on the future generations.

Forever 1 was a full comeback for their 15th anniversary (which is insane in itself). And both the song and MV have a lot of references to their debut song “Into the New World”, which has become an anthem and been covered by other idols countless times. These girls are truly legends.

You have followed Taeyeon and now you are beginning to understand how long and intensive her career has actually been and how insanely experienced professional she is today. (And of course the other snsd ladies) After all these years of continuos singing, recording and performing she owns the big stages, she owns the studio, she is outstanding doing co- ops, always considering and bracing singing partner and song to shine, not her ego. You'd learn that in group. She's not afraid of challenging herself again and again. With her skill and experience she can sing and perform nearly anything and it will be great. Snsd is just fun and cool to follow: songs are so variable and different from each other that they always keep you interested whats coming next. And of course the high quality of their singing and performances set a goal for other groups to reach. 'This is what can be achieved if you work hard'. And most important of all: it feels that they really have a genuine bonding and affection between the members of snsd. Also the relationship between snsd and sones is heartwarming and quite unique, I think.

They promised they would return and fans had to wait but for their 15 year anniversary they released Forever1 and an album and did live performances too and it was such a lovely thing. Emotional is an understatement (as soon as I saw Hyo crying during their SMTown performance I was in tears too) Not only were they keeping their promise, they showed that longevity and quality. Even though a good chunk of them are no longer under contract to SM, they made it work as group again for the fans. It can be done and I want to see many other groups make this work long term too. xx

SNSD officially has (1) Main Vocalist, Taeyeon. Though Tiffany had kinda defaulted into the slot when the 2nd main vocalist left the group in 2014. Officially though, SNSD's Lead Vocalists are Tiffany, Seohyun (3:35), and Sunny (3:30). Sooyoung (10:05), one of the lead dancers, has improved vastly and is kinda unofficially a Lead Vocalist too, being the only member to get an adlib in Forever 1 who's not in the vocal line and is often given harder lines over the other dancers.

SNSD have done almost all of the MV concepts so that newer kpop groups can get inspiration and adjust it according to their own. You brought it up at the end of the video, but I was just thinking about how strange it must seem to you to see Taeyeon as a member of a girl-group. She accomplished such incredible things as a solo artist, which is how you discovered her in the first place.

I love that you’re being introduced to Girls’ Generation! they were the group that introduced me to K-pop in 2010 :) since then, I have been in and out of the K-pop scene but GG will always have my heart. i love how you recognize Seohyun and Hyoyeon by their voices :D Forever 1 was/is so "you had to be there" moment because girls made a comeback as a full group after LOOOOONG years (mostly because 3 of them -Sooyoung, Seohyun, Tiffany- left Sm after their contracts expired) and it was their 15th anniversary, it felt like they were saying "no matter where we are or how long it takes, we'll always be 1 (hence the song's name)". Could Sooyoung be the member that you couldn't remember? :D because while watching the mv, you mentioned her. i know it isn't guaranteed, but i feel like you would love "Catch Me If You Can". :)

Girls' Generation entered my life in 2011. They stole my heart and am fine with them keeping it. I first heard "You Think" on a live stage video. I was just sure it was an excellent cover of a Destiny's Child song. I searched and searched and found nothing. Anyway, I love the stage performance choreo. "Forever1" was a celebration of their 15th anniversary!!! It was written by Kenzie who also wrote their debut song, "Into the New World" and several more songs along the way. Apparently, I had a little more heart in me, and I gave that to aespa. 🥰
