I guess the main difference between Messi and Ronaldo would be physicality. Just look at their height difference, for example. So Messi focussed more on developing his technique, especially with dribbling, passing, and chance creation. Whereas Ronaldo is much stronger, better in the air (like heading), etc. But they're both really, really good at scoring and were both pretty fast in their prime
