Its about time y’all finally met the actual queens of kpop. This group is very versatile and possesses overflowing talents. They explore and experiment A LOT with their discography (as soloist and as a group respectively). Not to mention they’re known for their stage presence and incredible vocal performances. Also, they are known for redefining gender norms and beauty standards, been very inclusive with other culture, and influencing women from left to right, from promoting body positivity and embracing one’s beauty to breaking the stereotypes of what a “woman should do” and what a “woman should wear”. Personality wise, they’re prolly the most genuine and transparent Idol out there. They’re relatable af and hilarious. They’re beyond perfection and I’m not even exaggerating. They really are just on another level compared to the other kpop groups and it sucks that they’re barely acknowledged. Would love for y’all to check out more of them. Aya is the culmination of 7 years of effort! Mamamoo has so many awesome, iconic songs and looks. They also sound great live and so their stages are also must sees. Everyone else is recommending group videos so I will recommend some of their solo content: Easy featuring Sik-K and Candy by Wheein; Eclipse, In My Room, and Absence by Moonbyul; Spit It Out By Solar; and I'm Bad Too featuring DPR, Twit, and Maria by Hwasa. Solar actually has a solo album, Solar Emotion, but I didn't listen to it yet. She also has a YT channel called Solarsido where she does a challenge every week and sometimes she does a vocal or dance cover. One thing that is going to bother the hell out of you about Mamamoo is that despite being vocally superior to most K-Pop girl groups they have almost no reach internationally. The good news is that that's changing and just today Ivy Park, Beyonce's fashion imprint at Adidas, posted a picture of Hwasa wearing Ivy Park. 👀 The whole group was wearing Ivy Park the other day and hopefully Beyonce senpai will notice them. 😂

Now some people will tell you not to get into mamamoo since you are two beautiful women of colour. Because mamamoo has done some racially insensitive things in the past but what Im gonna say to that is so many kpop groups and idols have done racially insensitive shit and most of the time (including mamamoos case) it is done out of ignorance rather than hate. Mamamoo has always actively spoken about race, lgbt and other important minorities and shown their support for them and while they have done things that most will take out of context and see as a bash to poc, due to Korea’s lack of education towards black culture many Koreans aren’t aware of things like we are and thus don’t know what would be insensitive and wrong to say etc and that is the same for mamamoo. We moomoos have given our knowledge of poc and what’s wrong and right (including poc moomoos) and haters will try to bash mamamoo and say that they are “pretending” to be ignorant of things when in reality they are. I hate comparing but bts for example has done many more racially insensitive stuff then mamamoo and don’t get the hate that mamamoo gets, and now that bts has been involved internationally and more in western culture etc they can learn much more than mamamoo could of these things, so while they have a sensitive past know that they did not do it out of hate and that they mean well and only want to be educated on these things as not to repeat them in the future.
