The song is not technically about Animal Farm, but the video itself has elements of Animal Farm, as well as Clockwork Orange, and yes, Willy Wonka.

He said it was actually a happy accident that Animal Farm fit so well with the lyrics and that they didn't really have that as the focus until they started working out the video and realized how well it all fit together.

He may have said it had nothing to do with animal farm but with all the animals in his videos that I can't help it doesn't reference George Orwell novels. It's blatantly clear with all these animals in his different videos that even if it's something that is not conscious is most definitely subconsciously the idea of a wack society. Just listen to some of the words and his tracks like the hunger

The basic premise to the song is that people always have a desire to overthrow their oppressors and always think that they would do a much better job than whoever they overthrow. The problem is that many times the new group/party/system ends up being just as bad, if not worse, than the one it replaced. Animal Farm by Orwell explores this idea and what happens to people when they wander down that path. The animals end up eating their own at the end.

In an interview he just recently said that the song originally really just was about flexing - and only gained meaning when they started to think about the filming of the video. That's when the connection to animal farm, clockwork orang etc came in. Sometimes the art you create is much bigger than you understand during creation.

Ren has many different styles. For a ballad that highlights his singing, listen to he and Chinchilla doing Chalk Outlines or I Forgot How To Be Me. For a fun upbeat hip hop song, listen to What You Want. For Reggie, listen to Humble or his band doing I shot the Sheriff. For a performance as intense as Hi Ren, listen to the Tales of Jenny and Screech Trilogy (all 3 at the same time). For a darker love song with heavy metal vibes listen to Crutch

If you look closely there is a human head in a bird cage swinging above the pig. Ren is the lord of the animals and king of the cannibals so he and the animals both eat the humans. It's like the lead guy from clockwork orange read the book animal farm and attempted to interpret it. Another great reaction Britt!!!

According to an interview with Ren that I recently saw with Knox Hill and another guy(can't remember his name).. This song isn't actually incredibly deep. It was a song he actually wrote like a year or so ago and just recently released. The deep parts are in the video. He put references to the book Animal Farm, Clockwork Orange and a bunch of other details. But he said that sometimes he just likes to have fun with a song that doesn't have to have a complex deep meaning and this was one of those. But when they made the video they went all out with little details and references that they felt could relate in a way to the theme of the song. That is just what I heard Ren himself speak about in a couple interviews I've watched. He actually just released an acoustic version of this song. It is a live one take video on a moving bus. He does all of the beatboxing and plays his acoustic guitar. I thought it was dope AF!! After reacting to this version I don't know if you would want to do another reaction to that version of the same song, but I would 100% be here to watch it if you did. Please react to more Ren Britt🙏 I would love to see your reaction to the "Tale of Jenny and Screech(full)". It is actually a trilogy of stories and make sure it is the FULL version that is a little over 13 minutes long. It is one of the most incredible storytelling songs I have ever heard. Ren just released an acoustic version recorded on a bus of this song. Like anything stripped down, it's easier to follow the word (play) throughout. Now, a key to the video is in the first shot, check out the rules written on the wall as the camera pans past them.

I think you nailed it with that it's just going "ape". From the interview on Knox Hills channel he kinda explained it was a bit of a flex song, then he thought of the Animal Farm concept for the video which brought another level. At least that's how I remember the interview. At first it was just a talking sh insane thing he came up with from playing some tom drums

Have seen some recomendations for his cover of I Shot the Sheriff, you'd find that under the band name The Big Push. But be warned!!! There are two videos - one of them he's wearing red suspenders in the thumbnail. You gotta see the red suspenders version or you will get all kinds of grief for picking the wrong one lol. That one is actually a medley of I Shot the Sheriff, Road to Zion, Through the Night and Hip-Hop. It will blow you away, the engery alone is amazing!

okay, since you asked for the discussion in the comments, I read through the comments below, and most of them touch on themes that are pretty easily identified: Orwell's Animal Farm, Kubrick's The Shining and Clockwork Orange, and some Willy Wonka. The Mary had a little lamb bar could be taken as a direct reference to animal farm, or a double including generally people being led like sheep. Ren mentions in his interviews of late that reviewers/reactors are identifying potential themes he hadn't considered, so I would leave room for the subjectivity factor ren intends to create. My take: it's a populist message, and Ren is against corporatization, greed in government (and perhaps the music industry?). If he's saying he's the cannibal king in charge of the animals leading them to burn the houses of Parliament down, I think what he's saying is that we are all animals at the end of the day, or at least can be, and he's going to be leading the push for the many over the few and elite. Just my thoughts after having watched this oh, over 100 times 🤣

Don’t worry about not getting this one. Ren mentioned in one of his interviews that his songs that are kind of like this one he does for fun. it’s kind of a flex song. There is so much Orwellian overtures in this song its uncanny Animal Farm, Snowball and Napoleon over throwing the farmer and set up their own society, the rules for the animals at the beginning of the video, only to find as time moves on that they end up exactly the same as their human captors did is a fantastic story of power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

People eat animals, animals eat animals, animals eat people. Equal opportunity of survival. There is not a lot of evidence of people eating people, but I am sure it has or is happening somewhere. Every type of animal group or herd has an hierarchy. Humans will fight for it and over it the same way. When animals take over it could be very ugly, thus the book by Orwell's Animal Farm. Didn't seem to dissuade us humans to change our behavior though did it? ☺

You DO NOT have to put a filter on Ren's videos, he is an independent artist and actually encourages reactors to react to his music videos. Thousands of other reactors have reacted to his videos and not one has put a filter on. Ren even watches some of the reactors and gives them a shout out on his channel, so do us all a favour and don't use the filter in future... strangely you didn't for Hi Ren. Ren is a multi talented artist and does every type of music from Rock to classical to Bardcore and Hip Hop. So it's strange to see you so surprised at him doing a Rap track.
