I can never make it through this song without breaking down. My great-grandmother took me and my brother in to raise when I was 10 months old. She was 69 at the time. So of course I was her baby. She passed away when I was 19. I got to the hospital 15 minutes after she passed away. She was lying in bed like she was sleeping and everyone was crying. I never got to say goodbye either, but I did give her a kiss before they wheeled her out.

I heard Blake talk about this song in an interview several years ago, and he said that it was basically the story of one of the writers of the song, Michael White. This song hits me even harder as an adult than it did when I was an early teen. My sister was the baby of us both, but I feel like my parents were more protective of me because of my vision impairment. Now being a grown man, whose parents live about five hours away from me, it does hit me a bit differently.

I am the baby and only daughter. When my dad was alive, i used to drive him to his dr appts. As i drove, he'd hold my hand and we would talk. Much of it was him telling me how much he loved me, how proud he was and how much he appreciated what i did for him. 😢 He eventually had a severe stroke and lost the use of his right side and his speech. You couldnt understand anything he said. We eventually ended back up in my van driving to appts. His left hand was still useable and able to hold my hand which of course he did. And in his garbled speech he began saying all those things again. With my brain and ears, I couldnt understand one word but my heart understood everything. His tone, the way he spoke was everything i needed to know and understand what he was saying. Always say what you have to say and express how you feel. You never know when that ability will be taken away. Be the person that can be understood without words. I live confident in the knowledge that my dad knew how i felt about him and that he loved me too.

I used to sing this song when my mom, my siblings, our spouses, and I went to karaoke. It was my mom's favorite. I'm the baby. I even changed the siblings' names and stories so they matched my siblings when I sang it. Then, this story happened to me. I didn't make it in time to say goodbye. She passed away in 2015. My dad passed away 6 months later. I haven't listened to it since... until now. I'm a wreck now. I miss them so much.

Absolutely! I have 2 boys. The oldest is 30. He is married with a girl of his own. The younger is about to be 16 & we are incredibly close. They are very different people but they are both my babies!

Dak Prescott, the QB of the Dallas Cowboys said he listens to this sometimes to honor his mom. He lost her to cancer. He is from Louisiana and she died when he was at Mississippi State when she died.

My baby started out at 3lbs 3oz on 03/03/2003. He’s 20 years old now. He towers over me and has a man’s voice. I always tell him that as long as I’m living, he’s my baby.❤️

To this day I can't listen to this song without breaking down. I'm the youngest of three boys, my brothers are almost a decade older than me. Our father passed when I was only four, and growing up it was pretty much just my mom and I so we were incredibly close. And yeah, I "the baby" to her... just like in the song, I got by with a lot more because she was just so worn out by life. I moved across the country in 2017. I never got to see my mom again, she passed less than a year later. I never got to say goodbye. I know this is over a week old now, but today is the 6th anniversary of the last time I saw her at the funeral. So thank you for reacting to this.

I was the youngest child and Mama called me Baby or Baby Girl as long as she lived. And since she died sixteen years ago, I still miss her every day. And sometimes I do cry like a baby.

My mom passed away over two years ago, and her baby went before her, (my sister). My mom was slim, and beautiful all her 94 years on this earth, and she loved Jesus, and her children, all 18 of them.

I can affirm the youngest... My siblings and I got together a few years ago and we has special shirts... my brother wore a shirt that said "I'm the oldest, I make the rules," my sister's shirt said, "I'm the middle, I"m the reason we had rules," and my shirt said, "I'm the youngest, the rules don't apply to me."

Great Reaction...... "He's the Baby"....... My 87 year old mom still says it..... I stand over 6 foot tall, Retired Military, 55 years old and live 1200 milies away....... "I'm the baby of 5 boys"...... A Couple years ago that is how I started conversation that when I would tell people about my family who don't know them......

I can't believe my baby is going to be 25 next month! He is six foot two and about two twenty, but that just makes him my big baby. I can't even get my arms all the way around him but he gives me big barrel hugs!

this was my truth. my mom got sick and i got a call at work she was bad. i was only 65 miles away and I drove 80 to make it to her. she was gone by the time I got there…

Shelton lost his older brother Richie back in 1990 in a car accident. Endy Shelton is his older sister.... Blake is the baby of the family.

His mom is still alive. She was at the ceremony recently when they presented Blake with his own star on the hollywood walk of fame.

His mom is involved with Halmark movies - not sure if she wrote a book or two that were picked up for filming (at a later stage in her life!👏👏) - Blake is executive producer for the films. Movies, restaurants - fingers are in many pies! I saw an interview where he said his stepdad was great and he wants to be a hands-on stepdad like that.

May I make a suggestion? Try to use the official videos whenever possible. The sound is much richer and more polished. Live videos often sound worse and frequently get "changed" by the artist into something that doesn't always reflect that which made the song so popular originally.

I guess I always felt so terribly sad for Blake, he wanted his own children, but his first wife something last name Lambert would always find an excuse not to have one. I guess it's a good thing she didn't since it didn't work out. By the way still no child even with her newest hubby. Although maybe neither want children which ok too. Then Blake met and fell in love Gwen, already has three sons, YIKES 😳 and definitely not having anymore children close to 50 yrs old. But Blake didn't care, he loved this woman and grew to love them boys too. The littlest one was only like two years old, and Blake and this baby bonded...Blake was his daddy, cause you always seen Blake holding him, and the baby clinging to him. Melted my heart...
