When the lights turned red, that was actually a drone camera moving around the set. These sisters are the real deal! They just don’t know how to write a bad song.

The Warning is a hard Rock band from Monterrey, Mexico. They are three sisters who are fluent in both Spanish and English and compose almost all of their songs in English. The drummer's name is Paulina, but everyone calls her Pau (pronounced Pow, which is fitting for a drummer, isn't it?). This song kind of features her talent and skill set. I don't think she plays the same drum fill twice throughout the song. And yes, she is intense but also she is just being Pau and having lots of fun doing it. She may be nuclear powered or made of pure energy for whatever time she is performing. Her sisters are Daniela (Guitar and lead singer), Dany for short, and Alejandra (bass guitar and background vocals), Ale for short. Pau is the middle child (21) with Dany being the oldest (23), and Ale being the youngest (and tallest of the three at age 18). Pau also sings the lead vocals on some songs. All three are classically trained pianists as well. Dany and Ale also played saxophone in their school's music program though to date they haven't written a song that requires a saxophone. Pau is the primary lyricist and primary songwriter, composing on a piano or a midi-keyboard plugged into her laptop. She creates a demo of what she writes, presents that to her sisters who then make adjustments, additions or larger scale changes. So, most of their songs are collaborations though each of them has composed a song independent of the others. They attended a summer course at the Berklee College of Music in Boston when they were much younger and afterward, released an EP titled "Escape the Mind", which featured their first original compositions. As independent artists, they released two albums, "XXI Century Blood" and "Queen of the Murder Scene" (a musical Rock novel) that were funded from their concert proceeds and contributions of their Patreon members. After months of negotiations, they signing with Lava Republic Records in 2020 for a five album deal. They are the first Latin American band to sign with a major US label. The album from which "Evolve" comes was their first Lava recording. It was recorded over three months during the Pandemic in New Jersey and produced by award-winning David Bendeth, except for the bonus track "Breathe", which was produced, composed, and performed by Paulina who is playing the family Spinnet piano that is notoriously a little bit out of tune.

These young sisters from Mexico are badass! The motion shot was by a drone, which was used along with 18 I-phones to make this video. All their videos are extremely well done.

I've been hooked on The Warnings music since June of last year. I got to see them live in September and video doesn't do them justice. They are so energetic on stage. They remind me of the bands from the 80s when I was a teen and went to concerts. Such an amazing and talented trio of sisters.

Just discovered them myself a couple of weeks ago. They are awesome!

I bought tickets to see The Warning open for Three Days Grace in November in Vancouver at the start of their Canadian Tour. Fantastic. Like many who will no doubt be commenting, the first time I’ve been inspired to buy Concert tickets in decades! In addition to TDG, in the last year they’ve toured with Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless and opened for Foo Fighters, Guns ‘n Roses, and recently four shows for Muse.

Pau (drums) intense? Ya think :-? In 2014, when their video of Enter Sandman (which was intended simply so that their grandparents could see how the girls, who were 14, 12, and 9 at the time, were progressing) went viral, Kirk Hammett commented that "the drummer kicks maximum ass". And when they toured with Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, and Lilith Czar, Arejay Hale (Halestorm's drummer) said that Pau was the most insane drummer on the tour. This song is normally their encore at present. During the breakdown, Pau tells the audience to get their hands up. The Warning Army is a well-trained and organized one, and we know not to disobey Gen. Pau's commands. The Pau Death Stare is not something you want directed at you. During a show in New Hampshire, she actually split the head of her kick drum during Choke, after which Dany commented that Pau was rocking maybe a bit too hard. In the breakdown, when commanding people put their hands up, she yelled out "I broke my drum kit for you! Come on!!" But if you think this is all there is to her, give Black Holes, Revenant, Show Me The Light, Breathe, Escape The Mind, Fade Away, and 23 a listen. For that matter, even if you know that this isn't all there is to her, give them a listen too. Or hey, just listen to them and don't even worry one way or the other about it. She's also the band's main creative force. She usually starts their songs on piano, brings them to her sisters, and they all finish them. Their creative process does not allow for anything subpar to slip through.

I was introduced to them via Halestorm, and just saw the mv for Choke. A few months later I saw them perform their opening set for the Halestorm x The Pretty Reckless tour stop in Phoenix, and they just rocked the stage!

These three sisters know how to rock. They started when the bassist was 9 and they rocked then. They are now 18, 21 (Pau - drums) and Dani (23 lead singer). They write their own songs and arrange their own music. They shot this on their own Iphones (18) and one drone. You can review any song and it will knock your socks off. Try Dust to Dust live at Lunario. The drummer sings lead and she is high energy TNT!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of The Warning! The Villareal sisters are Daniella (Dany, 23) on guitar, lead/backing vocals, and piano. Paulina (Pau, 21) on drums, lead/backing vocals, piano. Alejandra (Ale, 18) on bass, backing vocals, and piano. They maintained their independent status for several years and produced an EP of their early compositions in 2015 called Escape the Mind. In 2017 they released their first full LP called XXI Century Blood which was their big intro into the rock scene (other than the cover videos on YT that went viral). They followed that up in 2018 with the masterpiece of a concept album called Queen of the Murder Scene which is just an amazing piece of art from start to finish. All during these years they were offered huge record deals that they kept turning down just so they could maintain creative control over their music. They finally did sign a deal with Lava records after a very lengthy negotiation process, and their first LP under that flab Error was recorded in 2020 during the pandemic with legendary producer David Bendeth. They currently have almost 50 original songs in their catalog and that number will only grow as they are prolific songwriters. They were also invited by Metallica to join with Alessia Carra on a re-imagination of Enter Sandman for Metallica's Blacklist project to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Black Album. I'm subscribing in the hopes that you fall down this wonderful rabbit hole, because I'm all in to take that journey with you.

Who also directed The Warning's other official music video *Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara.* *Fun Facts II:* This video was shot at a local private garage in Monterrey, Mexico. Where the video itself was shot using 16 iPhones & one drone. When you saw those iPhones. They were use to shoot the video. The Warning have said it took them two hours to shoot this video. Probably another 3 to 4 hours to set up & take down the set until the garage property owner could return his collection of vehicles into his garage. *Fun Facts III:* According to Pau. Doing shooting this video. She developed blisters since in the video she is wearing gloves. Pau had to hold her drum sticks in different 0osition than wear she normally holds the sticks. *Fun Facts IV:* You said you're going to listen to the studio version of *Evolve.* *WHY?? YOU JUST DID!!* The studio version was used to overlay the music video. You should check out a live version of *Evolve.* There's plenty of videos to choose from. Since *Evolve* has turned into their closing song. And believe me. It's a closer & gotten better throughout their Mayday Tour of 2022. It's better now then their *"Evolve Live Sessions" video* which itself was better then the studio version.

I've been following these girls for years. It all started for me when I was searching KZfaq for young drummer videos as I'd gotten my 12 Y.O. son a drum kit and wanted him to see videos of other drummers. Stumbled across this 10 yo girl killing it on the drums and it blew me away. Year or so later the Enter Sand Man video of the sisters and I was hooked...the young ladies are extremely talented, lyric wise and musically...they're going to go far...😎🤘🤘🤘

Thanks for the commentary, discovered this band a few months ago and have been hooked ever since. The quality of the lyrics and the messages speak to many issues today. This song ends questioning is it right to evolve. Being old I think this speaks to me more because looking back I see some evolution I wish I could do over and very differently. Money, Disciple, Error and Choke are all great songs, The Queen of the Murder Scene Album from their days they were still in school, Elementary school in Ale's case (I believe) is also excellent.

Nice reaction / not bad for a 3 piece and they are all sisters. ALSO this song highlights Pau the drummer but other songs highlight Dani on guitar while other ones highlight Ali on the bass. Other words they are sisters and the share the spotlight.

Great reaction Britt! I am already a subscriber of your's from your AJ reactions. The Villarreal Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers who live in Monterrey, Mexico. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 23, 21 and 18 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 2 more times during the 6 shows I attended on their recent North American MAYDAY Tour. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. These young ladies are badass. They've opened for The Foo Fighters, Guns n Roses and Halestorm. Won't be long before they're the headlining act. I recommend watching them do this live, there's no difference from the studio version. There's a few from last summer at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ last summer.

The Warning is destined for greatness, as you may have noticed..😄 This is the first rock band I've ever encountered that simply can't make a bad song.😮 There's some better than others, but none that are truly 'bad' in their whole repertoire. You should check out the 'Error' and 'Disciple' music vids and of course, some of their live performances as well, since that's where they really shine!😍 🤘😎🤘

They are all ridiculously talented musicians but even that is surpassed by their song writing skills at such young ages.
