I was privileged enough to see Tina's final tour. The energy that you felt coming off the stage from her was something I only felt from her in a previous tour. She was electrifying! 60 yrs old and still SERVING IT! R.I.P, Queen of rock & roll!❤

This is the first and only DVD I bought, at 15 with my pocket money. Now 15 years later, it still tops my play count on every counting platform. From the first “Work like you don’t need the money,.” to the last cheers to 24/7, this concert is pure gold and the best energy boost ever. What a legend and an overall beautiful human being. R. I. P. Behind other things, what sets her apart from many performers is, that on that stage, every single person is a talented star and she appreciates it and is not afraid to give them time to shine and song by song it just ads to the epic momentum.

Such sad news! Another one of the greats is gone. Thanks for the nice tribute! Tina Turner was the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll". She spanned over 6 decades of music. She started out with her husband Ike & had some great hits such as "Proud Mary", "It's Gonna Work Out Fine", "River Deep-Mountain High" & "Nutbush City Limits". But she had even bigger hits when she went solo such as "Better Be Good To Me", "Private Dancer", "Typical Male", "The Best", "I Don't Wanna Fight", "GoldenEye", "We Don't Need Another Hero", "It's Only Love" (duet with Bryan Adams) etc.

The "original" is Creedence Clearwater Revival, but it's hugely different. Tina made the song her own early on. A nice contrast is Ike and Tina on the Ed Sullivan Show from way back

This was written and released in 1969 by John Fogerty of CCR and Ike and Tina covered it in 1970. She said she was going to do it nice and easy and then nice and rough 🎉 Proud Mary was a paddle wheel riverboat on the Mississippi River back in the day. Tina took it to another level.

This performance was from her Twenty-Four Seven tour in 2000. Proud Mary was the final number in the concert (there were two encores after PM) so she had already been onstage for at least 1.5 hours save for a couple of wardrobe changes & had at least 10 more minutes to go afterward. She was 61 at the time & in fantastic shape to be able to dance back & forth across the stage in high heels. Tina's success, beyond her latent talent, was her ability to select & surround herself with the best people be it producers, scene/lighting/sound designers, roadies, band members, dancers & vocalists. The dancer to Tina's left, Claire Turton, was dance captain for multiple Tina tours & went on to tour with Taylor Swift. You asked whether the "easy" or rough" portions were the original; Tina always did them together. If you watch early versions of Proud Mary with Ike Turner (the Italian TV performance is the best) you will find little difference in Tina's rendition other than her having had some vocal training to protect her voice & the length of the intro tease. The surrounding faces changed, charts were tweaked & the production values skyrocketed but Tina consistently delivered.

Tina never had vocal training it's all natural. If u watch her interviews she says how she got her raspy voice. It all started from church duh

This song was originally recorded by Credence Clearwater Revival back in the 1960’s. When Ike and Tina Turner did their version of it in the 1970’s it earned them a National Reward. After their divorce and Tina’s subsequent solo career, this became one of Her flagship numbers! Her version is the BEST!!!!

Also this song is a cover but Tina has always performed it like this, how she says in the beginning we like to … since maybe the early 70s when they first did it but it’s easily one of her biggest songs

"I'm not going to fast-forward." Really? What is with these younger people not being able to let things just happen and be? Ha! I watched other reactors complaining about how long the build up was to the live version of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight." Another wanted to skip the opening credits/scene of "Young Frankenstein." SMH (Edit) Im also amazed how they can't comprehend how great most bands/artists were live. In both how they sounded but just as important their stage presence. They also played for a minimum of 90 minutes and some up to 4 hours with just as much energy at the end of the show as the start of it. Man I'm 54 and i was definitely spoiled with the class of entertainment that I grew up on.

Yes totally agree. You g peoe today have no patience, empathy. Appreciation and the attention span of a rock. What happened. Today's so called music shows that. Auto tune no talents most of them. They would never have the guts or talent to even begin to compete with the likes of Tina Turner. Sad what music has become
