Simon was correct when he said that he had never heard that version, Angelina re-arranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelina-fying" a song. The lady who first stood and clapped at the end of Angelina's performance was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette,her sister and then her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager. Heidi Klum hit the Golden Buzzer. So Angelina went straight to the Final, where she performed Elton John's classic "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".¡ My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". Well, it was a seven-year-old child who appeared on the stage. She was small and had wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. My first surprise was how she confidently answered questions put to her by one of the judges. She showed no signs of nerves and when she was asked what song she was going to perform, she declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Then she gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and started singing. Yeah! The body of the 7-year-old child was still there, but the voice wasn't. It was that of a 40-50 year old black woman who had been singing for decades. That first moment of surprise has been experienced many times since then. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on KZfaq and in the years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others: in total over 120 different songs and 82 different performers. She takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. She never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. When you listen to her there is the feeling that you are the object of her attention. She is singing for you alone. I have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What I will never understand is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing. Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. Thank you ladies for your reactions and welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan. Here is an introduction to Angelina for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her. Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year he talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down. Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions. At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. Angelina Jordan has about 150 songs in her repertoire. Late last year she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. Angelina is 15 yrs old today (2021) but at this performance she was 13. At 14, she was signed by Republic Records. This year she released 2 originals and 5 (I believe) Covers, from Michael Jackson (2), Adele, The Beatles, and Whitney Houston with Mariah Carey. Lots of comments about our girl but no one gave you the background on this show. It is called America's Got Talent - The Champions I. It is open to those performers, all over the world, who have participated in the ...Got Talent shows in various countries. She could not win because of contractual pre-arrangements but she won the hearts of America. Angelina auditioned for Norway's Got Talent when she was 7 and won it when she was 8 years old. She became a star immediately and had many offers from famous record companies but her parents and uncle (also her manager) have guided her carefully to ensure she has a fairly normal childhood. She has performed to audiences small, such as a wedding of family friends, to to a huge 40,000 in Seoul and many TV appearances. She loves to sing live with just a guitar accompaniment but handles large orchestras as easily. She is a gift to humanity from God.

You just stumbled on my favorite artist of all time. This was pre-recorded 2 years ago (Oct 2019) & now she is 15 & has blossomed into a beautiful, statuesque (6'1") young woman with a 1000 voices. Other "Angels" have given you a lot of background for her, so I will just say you should see her today, as a fully professional recording artist at Republic Records (UMG). Then once you've seen a few recent songs, you should go back to her beginnings at Norway's Got Talent, when she was the most amazing child singer of all time. Nice reaction ladies. There are a few levels of genius involved in this performance. Of course Angelina's voice takes front and center among them, but starting out acapella in that soft breathy voice was a terrific way to focus everything on her voice. She has everybody concentrating on her voice right off the bat and from that point on, she simply owns the room. Finally, the arrangement of the song. The arrangement is completely unique and it's all Angelina. It had it's birth in June of 2019 when she was performing at the Brilliant Minds concert in Stockholm. Angelina and Egil Clausen, her guitarist in Norway, were killing time and warming up. In an interview, Egil said that he doesn't remember whether he happened to play the intro, or whether Angelina had recently discovered the song and asked if he knew it. Whatever the origin, neither of them knew at the time that it would later become the stunning performance you just watched. In my lifetime ( i'm 59 ) I have never witness someone who start as young as AJ did, and is on the rise to become one of the great singers of her generation, and perhaps for ALL generations.. Keep in mind, our AJ is in the field of 'entertainment', and in this field, to be able to become a mega super star, one has to have, a unique voice ( singing talent ), charisma ( stage presence ), last but not least, the 'looks'', in which our AJ have grown into the realm of super model aka a living goddess. First of all, that was a great reaction. Second, I really like the fact that you put a link to the original video and encourage people to check out her channel. This song had to be leaked to the internet for us to be able to hear it, and there are a lot of "rumors" and "speculation" surrounding the reasons it was never released, but nothing to back up any of them. EVERYTHING she does is amazing in it's own way, and in my 67 years, I have never heard another singer that sings with so much feeling and emotion. With most singers, you hear the song. With Angelina you actually 'feel' it. Her "Angels" (her name for her fans) will give you a lot of recommendations and reveal a lot of her story as you react to more, and... Angelina is born and raised in Norway. Her grandmother is from Iran. And was a famous poet and painter. Angelina speaks 4 languages. Norwegian, English, persian and Japanese (Her grandfather was from Japan). I really recommend you react to her version of *I put a spell on you* (The black and white one) she had just turned 9 years when she recorded it. And she even arranged the song... Also one which i think is her best one is a song that a Norwegian artist wrote and wanted Angelina to sing. *Im still holding out for you * She recorded it when she was only 10 years old but didn't release it. Her mother i think didn't want her to release it because the song has some suicidal lyrics in the end of the song. So since she didn't release it the person who wrote it (artist name baby fuzz) recorded it and released it. And in between that time Angelinas version got leaked. So there is alot of storys out about what happened but no one really know what happened. The person who has posted the song keeps deleting the comments and has now turned the comment section off. So no one really knows. But im not gonna lie im low key glad it got leaked cause then we got to hear it.. And out of all her songs this is her best one. And i see im not the only one that thinks that cause i seen alot of people commenting the same.. Really hope you do these songs. They are absolutely amazing both of them. Trust me..
