If you watch 100s of hours of The Fairy Voice Mother imitating and deconstructing and analyzing vocal technique you'll never hear her sing like this. She really brought something out here that is more characteristic of her as an artist and storyteller than analyst. She went for super-SUPER heavy vibrato here, and a total vocal larynyx change, timbre change, and resonance change to bring us these two (well 3) voices distinctly. I wouldn't have been able to tell these things (even as a musician myself) without having learned about the intricacies of vocal technique on her channel. If she's a great artist, she's also a great professor of vocal arts. I tell you, this was really shocking having never heard these intonations from her before. We've decided to call ourselves, her fans, the Wrenditions.

What a great reaction to Lolli, she’s a real sweetheart! I have been on her channel more or less from the start, it’s been a pleasure to see her release this as her debut single, I think it’s the best cover I have ever heard.

She is fantastic! This cover is very close in structure to Johnny Cash's version, which is simply otherworldly. Our reaction episode is linked in the end screen to this episode. I have watched The Fairy Voicemother for a couple of years, she is one of the experts that can not only do almost anything with her voice but she can teach others and explain the mechanics behind all of it. I used to hear he demonstrate a sound that someone makes and knew that she was an amaizing singer herself. I am so glad she puts her music out for us to hear , she is wonderful.

Loved your review of Lolli's cover of "Hurt". I've watched the Fairy Voice Mother for about 2 years and thought she herself had a beautiful voice. Her own emotional reaction to the Johnny Cash version killed me and her own interpretation of this song blew me away. Such a talented young woman.

First I wasn’t keen to hear another cover of Hurt. Johnny Cash with his aged voice at the end of his live, I thought this was perfect. And it was. But the tiny changes Lolly did in the lyrics and her thoughtful video was great. As you always want them to do with covers, Itai: she made it her own. I know her channel and she is an interesting person. Smart and sometimes goofy. Totally different from what she did in the video. She really is a good actor too.
