Phil does have a phenomenon of a vocal singer. Even though dime and vinnie are no longer with us , I feel that the very least I could do was buy a ticket for what's left of the original members for the respect for this legendary band that once was , the Australian tour in march in Adelaide in south Australia. I was only 15 when I fell in love with pantera but its one band that I never have seen. I've seen Metallica once, Megadeth one Anthrax once & my favourite slayer 3 times. The big 4 Unfortunately I had never seen hanneman play live because the times I watch them all live , hanneman started to become sick and couldn't go on. It was quite the experience however, seeing Lombardo live the 1st 2 times and final world tour with Bosto drumming with garry holt ... don't get me wrong but hanneman made holt look like a choir boy when he took over from Jeff.

When Dime died, Eddie Van Halen gave him his signature yellow evh guitar called “bumble bee” to be buried with. Dime always said that was his favourite guitar of Eddie’s, who was also his favourite guitarist. Eddie said “an original should have an original.” What a great guy. Shred In Peace to them both! Amazing guitarists and people.

I remember that. Damn I went to the Headbangers Ball Tour in 2004, like 6 months before Dime got murdered by that POS! 😡🤬😭 The tour was Unearth, Hatebreed, and Damage Plan was headlining. I remember getting to meet the lead singer of Unearth and getting his autograph. I thought that was the best part of the night. Nope! After Hatebreed’s set, I was super exhausted from the mosh pit/circle pit, so I went upstairs to sit down. I end up sitting next to Vinnie Paul’s girlfriend and maybe his daughter or her daughter. Then during the Damage Plan set legendary guitarist Zakk Wylde from Black Label came out and jammed with Dimebag Darrell for like 20 minutes! If I knew that was the last time I’d see Dime live!

@@lfmontag You do realize heavy metal music is created from literally multitude of all genre of music going back from not only the1950's but to the 1500's. Jazz, blues. classical, etc. Hip hop and Rap artists, just go back to like bad street music from the 1980's. I listen to Heavy Metal since I was seven (1984!) and Hip Hop since I was eleven (1988!) and guess what, there is no Pantera without Hip Hop, you just forgot (or ignored) how Hip Hop influenced Pantera in their transition from glam do GROOVE, how ironic hum??? Even the lyrics of Pantera came from "bad street music from the 1980's" and just to correct you a little more, internet teacher, Hip Hop came from cotton songs just like Blues and Jazz and Rock and Roll, all kinds of BLACK MUSIC which pavemented the world we are listening. music is not competition, heavy metal react videos are supposed to be FUN just because THEY ARE OPEN-MINDED TO TRY SOMETHING NEW. and this is what your hero Phil Anselmo said about Lost in Vegas channel, which you were lazy to search because you are so full of yourself: "I adore the fact you cats have an open minded opinion on music, because we ALL should! This is objectively one of the greatest solos of all time. Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains was a good friend of Dimebag, and always noted that while there are many guitarists that can play heavy music, few had the soul and grove that Dimebag brought to it, and coming from Cantrell, one of the greatest Riff lords of all time, that statement has weight. Exactly... Sometimes people ask me why i love this "old" band, it's not bad but there are better bands... And so on and so on. WELL: These people are in their 20s and i guess you can only fully understand what Pantera was when you lived in the 90s. There simply was no Slipknot or Five finger death punch or or or. I never forget the moment i heard "Mouth for war" as i thought Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth were the hardest and best bands in the world. Holy crap, Pantera blew all of the straight away and defined the sound of the next decade to come. And if you saw them livein the 90s (thank god i had the chance 2 times) they were a unbelievable tight powerhorse on stage. Never heard such greatness again. If you want to hear Phil's Rob Halford "inspired" singing voice. Just listen to his 1st album with Pantera, Power Metal. A very underrated, forgotten and important 1st step towards the Pantera we all know and love.

When you get a chance, you should check out Dimebag Darrell's solo called "still got the blues". It's a really awesome solo that Dime perfected over his career as a professional musician. Dime wasn't only a guitar genius, he was a fun cool guy that would literally stop his tour bus and pickup fans to party with and hang out. He was so cool that he would grill steaks and hang out with his fans, that's the Dimebag Darrell I knew. I was lucky enough to hang out backstage with Dime once. And he stayed there until 5:00 in the morning just to make sure he talked to everyone who waited for hours just to talk to. Rest in peace Dime and Vinny, the world of metal has never been the same without them both!

This was the first Pantera song I ever heard. It's been so long I forgot this song was on the Tales From The Crypt Presents: Demon Knight Soundtrack. Also one of my all time favorite horror movies ever, but when it came out this song was on the hard rock/metal radio stations as basically the official theme song for the movie. I saw them a few short years later with Type O Negative at my first ever Metal show. I was 15! I looked older than I was and my Uncle got me in. Seeing Pantera was like a religious experience followed by about 25 years worth of Metal shows after seeing these guys.

I JUST found your channel this morning, and what a PERFECT video to grab my attention....This band was EVERYTHING to me after I found them, and opened me up to so many more great bands in the process and aftermath of discovering them... That being said, you should consider a song from Vulgar Display of Power, that is unique on the entirety of the album, and I suspect it is a FAR UNDERRATED /APPRECIATED MASTERPIECE as a specific showcase of their talents. To me lyrically, it is one of Pantera's most significant and powerful songs. Its an emotional roller coaster....and you can feel every bit of the pain and sadness behind this song when it was written. PLEASE STRONGLY consider doing a reaction video to "Hollow".. I CANNOT recommend this song/video enough... With LOVE. RIP to the Abbott Brothers...

@ 5:36 "I feel like one of the GREATEST....guitarists of all time" Yes. He was. In my simple and humble opinion, he is the LAST true "guitar god" None since.... He belongs in the same room with Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Tommy Iommi, Randy Rhoades...and Eddie VAN HALEN. Dimebag was "arguably" the best Metal Guitarist of all time. I saw him live many times, he gave goosebumps to THOUSANDS of people every time he played.

Actually, one of my absolute favorite Dimebag solos wasn't even on a Pantera album. He sat in on a few Anthrax songs. He did a solo on the song "Inside Out" that I love! Actually, that's another one where the official video version shortens the song. But among the Pantera songs, my favorite Dime solo is on "Floods". I think it's a lot of fans' favorites!

I’m not the biggest Pantera fan, but this would be my favorite Pantera song. Especially that ending where the singer and the guitar trade off hitting high notes. One slightly off the wall suggestion for you. Pantera did a song for the soundtrack of ‘Dracula 2000’, and the song is called ‘Avoid The Light’. I don’t know if KZfaq even has a video… Apple Music doesn’t.

I remember hearing this song for the first time on headphones back when it was released. Heard it around 11pm on a summer night on KBPI (famous FM radio, Denver metal station in the 80/90's). Summer showers and an amazing lightening display made it even more powerful. The power and impact were immediate on first listen. Every lyric in this song hits home, but when he sings...."And when she died I should've cried, And spared myself some pain, You left me incomplete, All alone as the memories still remain". Wow. Amazing band.
