Taeyeon is the leader of Girls' Generation(8 members group), considered as one of the most popular and influential girl groups, if not the most, in kpop history. They were so successful that they were also called "the Nation's Girl Group". The group has been around since 2007 and is still going on. The group's latest comeback was in 2022. While being a member of the legendary group, Taeyeon is also considered as one of the best soloists ever(her first solo album was released in 2015). Taeyeon's Killing Voice was the 2nd most watched KZfaq video in Korea in 2022(FYI, the 1st most watched video was some non-kpop stuff). Hopefully, Girls' Generation will record Killing Voice next year.

It's so crazy to me that Taeyeon is a successful soloist to the point where most don't even have to point out that she's from a big girl group. Even more so that she's the leader and main vocalist of that group. All of Girls' Generation really out there making a name for themselves outside of the group. They're one of the groups where I don't feel weird to call mothers and queens because they're actually older than me. Hahaha.

Groups like 2NE1, TVXQ, SHINEE, 2PM, Infinite, Vixx, Kara, and SNSD walked so BTS, Twice, and Blackpink could run. Taeyeon is the leader of SNSD. She is a genre unto herself.
