Both recently did another collab along with Bodyslam called Leave It All Behind so that's another cool song for you to enjoy next time. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop (not Kpop) with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. About the song: You're jumping into Metal Galaxy 2019 album. Last year fans at Bangkok had a blast with this song live with F.Hero as a special guest for the third time performing together after this 2019 live version in Japan, but everyone were enjoying this in every concert, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist. F.Hero is a top Thai rapper artist and he's singing/rapping in Thai language, the title is in reference to the papaya fruit used as an ingredient in a popular Thai salad. It's a fun song to represent and celebrate the mix between these two great cultures, and fans of all generations enjoyed at the recent World Tour 2023/2024, and we're definitely gonna see more this year. If you want another rare live performance with Latin rhythm vibes you got "Night Night Burn" live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, or with Indian influence like "Shanti Shanti Shanti" official MV, better yet if you look for "folky" vibes then you got "Oh! MAJINAI" ft. Joakim Brodem live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 or Budokan 2021. This song belongs to 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" released in 2019 but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun. The footage of this was took from BABYMETAL AWAKENS: The Sun Also Rises 2019 in Yokohama Arena, Japan, F.Hero was invited for this, the night before he was really in panic with the amount of people and even throwing all out after the show, It ain't easy to face that crowd, especially after receiving some negative critics from BM fans who didn't like his participation on this, luckily he recover from this and received a warming welcome. Also that night they introduced the _avengers_ system, a group of three backup dancers filling the third spot that YuiMetal left (she left the group in 2018). They rotate so not always you'll see the same one on stage, usually the live official MV before 2020 is with Kano Fujihira, she started this when having 14 years old, so young like our girls back in their early days. None of them had mic or sing and aren't official members, they just dance. But remember that status recently changed in April when one of them, MomoMetal, became a new official member, but again the one you saw in this official live MV is Kano-chan. The official MV got album studio sound so wait to hear the blaster sound of the Kami Band playing this live. They are best live. In 2023, they performed 97 live shows in 25 countries! I went to Japan, Philly, and Madrid to see them and went wild every time. I was twirling a towel to PA PA YA and was running in circles for Road of Resistance (a must see), and I was 74 years old.

Babymetal live energy, is amazing, maybe the best in the world. But some people you need an open mind/let go of some preconceptions to be able to accept them, but Babymetal are something unique and unusual.

They are Japanese and started in 2010 as a sub-unit of a school themed JPop Idol group (they were aged 12 and 11 at the time) and created their own metal sub-genre mixing Metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics. They separated from the parent group in 2013 and have been touring the world every year (when they could) since 2014. We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet. BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist and the whole concept was formed and developed around her vocal talents and stage presence - she is exceptionally talented), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo). The original third member was Yuimetal, she left the band in 2018 for health reasons, Momometal became the third member in April last year. The backing vocals are the parts the crowd will sing along with and they are a huge part of what sets BABYMETAL apart from other bands. They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band, all of them are world class instrumentalists. Since 2019 they have two Kami Bands, the Kami Band of the East (the best Japanese session musicians you could ask for) have been with them since 2012 and full time since early 2014. Oh no. Am I witnessing another soul falling into the foxhole? PAPAYA was my first BABYMETAL exposure and I've lost my mind ever since.. all in a good way. I would suggest BxMxC, which is a rap she does. You should also watch Road of Resistance. Or just search Babymetal and just go down the line. Chances are, you'll like it all. They have been doing it for over 10 years so some of the videos will be of them when they are like 14 years old. They are currently in their 20's. My biggest suggestion would be to try and react to their live performances as they are really a force playing live, especially in Japan. Their Japan shows are crazy productions and Su-metal, the lead vocal is an amazing vocalist. There is no shortage of talent in BABYMETAL from the ladies who are BABYMETAL to the KAMI band who play the instrumentals.

This was so fun to watch, thank you! Babymetal had a song on youtube go viral 10+ years ago called "gimme chocolate" - 200m views and still rising - I saw that when it came out and was impressed but not hooked, it was so well done but not really entirely my thing. Fast forward to a couple of years ago and "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan" popped up on my feed, I watched it and was completely hooked. Babymetal is no joke. The most diverse, or varied genre band I know. I love everything they perform, but it sounds like you might (I do) like BxMxC. They have some songs that are more Hiphop/rap blended, but they really do fuse every genre with rock/metal. In fact the only genre I haven’t specifically heard mixed in, is country. Great reaction to a truly unique group going for 14 years now - my only suggestion beyond those you're likely to get is try in general to avoid "official" videos - they're likely to lack subtitles, intros, the crowd (essential) and are likely to be studio track over a concert, and they hit way less hard. Welcome to one of the most constantly surprising groups you're likely to see in a very long time.
