It's so interesting that you heard this song and thought of the guys being away because so many ARMY went to this song after all of the members were enlisted. It was all a coincidence and totally unplanned but we all missed them so much that we listened to it and it wound up charting #1 internationally. It's a great coincidence that Jin will be returning to us on a spring day (June 12th). Then when the oither members all reunite in June 2025, it'll be a spring day again so it applies.

Yes this song means so much for us. Actually when all the members enlisted in military *Spring days retopped itunes worldwide song chart after 2017* Any song other than BTS & members songs which are released in 2023 didn't reach 1 on itunes chart but BTS did it again with their older songs, they hold that much power. Actually BTS is the artist with mos itune #1s with 33 songs reaching there black pink is the 2nd k pop grp with most #1s & they have only 3 ( not in a disrespectful way to them).

It's worth watching Italian Armies explaination of the Sewol Ferry disaster but you have to watch it on a strong day. I cried for the second half and about 20 minutes after. They were tears of anger and frustration. Despite knowing before watching people were imprisoned and it brought the government down. Even now I admire BTS for making this video. Its scathing condemnation wrapped in beauty. I am not surprised it has never left the charts ever since. I think this song is one of the most important ones they made. I kind of put it in category like STRANGE FRUIT recorded by BILLY HOLLIDAY.

One of these days you should watch their Tiny Desk. That’s probably my favorite performance of Spring Day. It was filmed in 2020, during the pandemic, and it’s just them sitting on stools singing, and the emotion is palpable! 💜💜

When the Ferry Sewol tragedy happened, MBC News in Korea did not talk about rescuing the victims or the government's fault, and talked about how much compensation the families would receive. The bereaved families only wanted to find out the cause of the accident and to clarify the reason why the government blocked the rescue of the victims. Nothing has been revealed about the Ferry Sewol tragedy even now because there are still many subordinates left during the Park administration. Especially the media, which used to be the puppet of the Park administration, is still alive. And they had attacked the next Korean government.(It was Moon Jae-In government, a government that respected BTS as artists, and also respected autonomy in the Korean culture and arts community.) This is such a masterpiece of a song, it has so many interpretations. The choreography is also really good but camerawork here is really bad, check out their dance practice as well. They also did another version of dance practice called 'Spring Day Lovely Ver' where they goof around while dancing, it's hilarious. Please watch them both!

The worst thing about the disaster - the captain and crew fled the ship the morning 9.35 - the ferry did not sink until the night - they left the warning to "not move and stay still" playing on a loop through the ship. Only the children that disobeyed the warning survived. The others drowned as they were so ingrained to listen to authority. The civilian boats that attempted to rescue people were stopped by the coast guard as people would discover the boat was illegally overloaded. Parents on the shore were receiving desperate calls and texts from their children begging for help. And the coastguard did nothing. The only rescue the coastguard made that day was the captain and crew... The people that got rescued were rescued by fishing vessels that got there first before they were stopped...3 years the ferry lay at the bottom as the Govt would not raise it for fear of discovering the truth.... They found video footage taken on mobile phones that were recovered of children wishing their families goodbye. One of the civilian rescue divers later committed suicide after having to recover so many children's bodies knowing that he could have saved them but was forcibly stopped. As a parent I could not comprehend having to live through such a thing. Horrific that your own government would perpetrate and then cover up such a incident... jailing dissenters for protesting. It was proven that there were high officials with financial interests in the ferry. The president colluded with them to bury the truth and hamper investigations... 10000 people in the public eye (reporters, artists, etc) put on a Govt blacklist for speaking about it. BTS went and paid respects to the parents of the victims in 2014 when the tragedy occured. No Cameras - No fan fair - just doing what was right...They also donated approx $100,000 (that year they only earnt $300,000 - they gave 1/3 of their earnings) to help the parents in their fight for justice.... We only found out about the donation years later as one of the parents was sick of all the hatred BTS was always getting and wanted others to know just how decent they are. The MV, The album cover, The choreography all relate back to the Sewol. But The song is about missing anyone you love and are separated from. They have since been singing Spring Day during the pandemic as the world is now longing for a spring day. Spring Day has never left the music charts, to this day it is still in the top 100 charts.... almost 7 years later and this song still speaks to people everywhere.
