Gwar is fucking legendary, man! My fave band since I was 12!

This album is a rock opera. It details Gwar's antarctic fortress getting hammered by the armies of the world while they're blitzed out drunk, they arrive in hell, meet some famous people, demons, a fan who followed them to hell, fight Lucifer, then wake up thinking its all been a crack-fueled dream.

This whole album is really good. It’s a journey about them fighting the devil (I think).

Love GWAR, I regret all the chances I had to see them live and I missed them all. Dave was something special, RIP DAVE!

I miss oderus 😢 rip His vocals were always a rollercoaster ride . That track was gor-gor ( hes the t-rex ) the video is funny too . Gwar is a rare band that got heavier over the years. I think their best song is immortal corruptor , also a great video

Ahhh GWAR, Those were the days. A buddy of mine loved them.

The track fading out at the end is Gor-Gor, but someone else is singing the track while Oderus was getting gnawed on by the Gor-Gor the undead, techno dinosaur.

The video for gor-gor is also very entertaining.

Getting to see GWAR live two or three times a year was the best part about being an 80s teen.

Seen Gwar about a dozen times in the 90's. Odorous does have bars. Check out Salamanizer for more bars being slayed.

The Road Behind is my favorite song ever by Gwar. Look up the front man of Gwar and read what happened and his funeral was amazing.

I wouldn't say Gwar has Rush level lyrics... far from it... but I do think Dave was clever in the way the South Park guys are clever. Hes was that kind of comedy genius. Also.. I like that Gwar could be Punk. Metal and Ska at the same time... as well as be a parody of all of those things. Then theres the stage show... which was on another level. One of the greatest live shows I've ever experienced.. and I used to work for a music venue.. so I've seen a few. The other greatest live show... Weird Al. Both he and Gwar put on a fuckkin show like no other.

Gwar has a great sound they just say really morbidly weird sh!t, I would say they actually do have timeless songs and at least you can't go wrong with gwar.

In spite of their reputation as a death metal band, GWAR (which stands for God What an Awful Racket) offered the discerning listener a higher level of musical skill and composition under the guiding direction of Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie) than almost all other bands in that genre. Occasional elements of jazz and intelligent, sometimes gut-busting humor, set this band apart. Their current line-up doesn't match up to the original band's creative ingenuity, so I'd recommend sticking with GWAR's discography before Oderus's untimely passing. Happy listening!

Glad you picked that song. One of my favorites too. I have also discovered Gwar through the Beavis and Butt-Head videogames. The thing about Gwar is that the originally came from Punkrock. You can hear that in their first album. And i think that every Gwar album had a different style, sound and feel to it. Until War Party where they startet to sound like almost every other Metal band and every new Gwar album started to sound the same. They are kinda going back to their original sound after Dave died. The Road Behind still remains a Rock classic.

I think the thing that most reactors, or just people who don't know GWAR, miss, is that they're albums are concept albums, each track before informs the next, it's a story, not just a gross song

No no no, dont listen to anyone who tells you to listen to anything except "Scumdogs of the universe". That record by leaps and bounds is their best . Thats an opinion held by the band themselves as well . Its the second record the first one "Hellow" is good but the second record is Gwar. The third record is a close second "America most be destroyed"

Gwar is one of those bands that you have to understand their sense of humor in order to get them. Honestly I would have started you off with War Is All We Know as it's an awesome song but fucking hilarious at the same time. Then I'd suggest Metal, Metal Land as that's probably the best example of their humor once you get it.
