Juilliard trained Opera Singer and Vocal Coach Maggie Reneé reacts to Tina Turner R.I.P. - Proud Mary. I was so shocked to hear that this incredible legend passed away after I had FINALLY gotten to hear her sing and see her perform for real in this reaction. Tina Turner was a force and I am so grateful that I got to hear her in my reactions before she passed away and will appreciate her artistry and music for years to come. May she Rest In Peace. ❤️

Do yourself a favour and do Tina’s duet with Aussie legend Jimmy Barnes.... “ Simply The Best”. As Tina was one of Jimmy’s idols, he behaved himself and gave what is probably his best ever “ subdued “ performance and vocals. Also features Mark Lizotte ( Johnny Diesel ) on guitar.

I was named after Ms. Tina - she was singing with Ike when my mother fell in love with her after hearing her debut album in 1961. I had the privilege of seeing her in concert for my 50th birthday - she was in her early 70s. She wore 3 inch heels, a short short dress, danced, sang and tore that stage UP for several hours! I will never forget it. She is amazing. Thanks for paying your respect to her. RIP Ms. Tina.

I saw her perform this song in Switzerland several times and it was the highlight of the concert every time. We lost a great woman and I am glad she found peace in my country in the last three decades. (Also, she is in her 60s in this video, singing and dancing in high heels... I'm in my 40s and would be dead after 20 seconds of this. So much power.)

God, how is this possible? I can not sit still, when I hear music like that and I am 42 and have a damaged knee (should not really dance, I do not care). Maybe it is, because I started with "rytmische Sport gymnastic" by the age of 5 and always did something sport related. I can not understand that people just never give a sh.... about that. I can dance 2-3 hours, in my 20s, without ecstasy, the whole night! I still love Rock and Metal like nothing else. And, I do not think, that she had "special once", but "dance shoes" are also existing with heels (I have some myself). Sorry, but I truly can not understand it, unless you had a very bad extent, or can not walk since childhood.

I just love how the "nice and easy" part of this is in such a TIGHT pocket! I said this on Facebook and I'll say it here: Tina Turner is easily the greatest female performer of the last 75 years. And when you consider the other powerhouse female performers in that timeframe (The Supremes, Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Dolly, Whitney, etc.), that is saying a LOT!

If you look closely, you can see that one of Tina's backup singers is Gloria Reuben. She was on the TV show E.R., but would take time off from the show to sing for Tina on tours. I heard her explain it in an interview: "Let's see, be on a TV show or tour with a rock legend. Pretty easy decision to make." Since E.R. had an ensemble cast, they worked with not having her on set.

This is pure nostalgia on stage. Tina is 60 here and not what she was 20 years earlier. If you really want to see Tina "mash potatoes," you gotta see her perform this piece in her prime. Tina took a great song and turned it into an entire production. And yes, that anticipation is part of it. The audience knows what's coming, wants it to get "nice and rough," but are willing to wait because it is WORTH the wait. Tina was worth the wait. Award shows are stupid. Rarely am I interested in them. But at one, many years ago, John Denver introduced Tina Turner by calling her, "The woman who taught all other women how to dance in high heels." That was Tina. She will be missed.

And that my young singing wannabes is how you put on a performance!! No auto tune, pure talent! Either you can sing or you can't and she could singgggg! Oh and by the way she had some nifty dance moves lol! RIP Tina. Truley one of the greats.

This is 2000 so keep in mind that she was in her 60s and still looking gorgeous as always. Famous for her voice and her legs.

The remarkable Tina Turner was 61 when she did this performance. Believe or not, Tina was much wilder in her younger years. Watch her doing "River Deep, Mountain High" the live performance from 1969 to see really vintage Tina. I had the great pleasure of seeing her live do "River" during that very year. RIP to the longtime Queen of R&B/rock.

In 1968, Worked at my first Rock Festival in Woodinville, WA. Ike & Tina Review with the "Ikes" 3 backup dancers, and singers performed right After Chuck Berry's performance. Tina was amazing, stole the show dancing, singing, and putting down, "male chauvinism". The best tune that evening was "River Deep, Mountain High. Amazing live Lady.

I remember seeing her perform this in the early 70s on TV. I wanted to move like that so much.

This is one of the all-time great concerts; I’ve watched the whole thing innumerable times. There are few things better when one needs waking - or cheering - up. The level of energy she maintains across two hours is terrific - by the end of the show the backing dancers are visibly tiring, but she’s powering on. She may be dead, but she’ll never die.

According to the stories she ran rings around her backup dancers and they couldn't keep up with her, panting and out of energy and she'd still be going strong. The woman was an icon of strength both physical and mental.

Ok, she's great for 60 but that's clearly nonsense.

@@thegroovetube3247 my grandpa ran rings around the high-school tennis team and he was in his 70's at the time, and he wasn't even a pro, so don't be so quick to diss.

Oh come on. It's a great performance from her, but you can see her. And you can see the professional dancers who're half her age and dancing non-stop. Do you really believe that they're strugglig to keep up with her?

No one ever went to a Tina Turner show and thought that they got cheated. She always left everything she had out on the stage. Was a fantastic entertainer.
