Eddie is the only guy I have ever seen remove the cover plate on the back of the guitar, and pluck the tension springs inside the body. Pretty cool effect, but might take some creativity to work it into a song. 🤣♥️✌🏼😎

Eddie was well known for taking guitars apart and messing around with the electronics just to see what sounds he could create This video a good example of what can happen when you really understand the electronic capabilities of the instrument and have the physical ability with your hands to make it happen. Incorrect. Firstly this wasn't a one shot legendary solo he did. This was a solo he did every show. And the story about him being black out drunk is a BS story that has gone around and been repeated for years. Eddie had many performances after the good years of which it was obvious where he struggled with alcohol and drugs, The beginning of the fallout between him and Sammy. This performance is during the good years before his problem.
@beatmet2355

You’re confusing this performance with another where he actually WAS drunk around 2004-2005. It was pretty hard to watch and listen to. Alcohol and music don’t mix.

first song he was strumming....316...wrote it for his son Wolfgang after he was born who is now doing quite well on his own with his own band Mammoth. Saw them both playing together in the first reunion tour with David Lee Roth, Wolfgang was a teen and played bass and Eddie was obviously older but could still shred. Yes, his story about writing it for Wolfgang was some kind of weird revisionism. When he told that story , he had forgotten that it was recorded on Live Without a Net five years before the birth of his son. EVH was an amazing musician but he would also say anything for publicity, knowing what kind of things the press love to talk about. He knew that his son would be a press worthy story seeing as he was married to a famous actress.

@@davemclaughlin2305 \m/ not surprisingly, very few people pay attention to the name. 😁 Yeah, DD was the first VH tape that I bought, so of course I developed a fondness for it. I was always a little confused when people thought it was crap. And this was back when you bought every release from a band you liked; your collection was not complete if you didn't have more than a couple of representations from the band's catalog....then you'd hear that, oh, this album was really good, but most people haven't heard it. And that's how you find the gems. People growing up now have no knowledge of deep cuts, and that's a shame.

No one could convince me that any name for this solo other than "Eruption" would be accurate. Eddie goes absolutely *volcanic* with it. I know Eddie had put in the time & the work to the point where he must have had calluses on the calluses to cover the calluses on his fingers but whenever I hear Eddie playing, I think my own fingers start to bleed as if in sympathy for his. I'd *almost* believe it if someone told me that the only reason someone could possibly play the guitar *that fast* is by moving his fingers faster than the speed of sound so that the guitar produces more notes. I'm not a betting man but if I were, I'd wager that Eddie's guitars went with him to Heaven...Because he certainly played the Hell *out* of them.

Been trying to get a reactor to react to dimebag Darrell live at 18-year-old it's probably the best solo I have ever seen he does all and he's doing now and some stuff that his mind growing don't get me wrong Eddie is a God but down there 18 years of age it's just a freak of nature and now best person I've ever met I'm waiting to see who's going to be the first because all of them will be doing it after that and I've been a guitar for over 30 years and would never pretend to be even in their league I couldn't do what done bad done that 18 with 30 years of experience in practice Long live King Eddie
