Geoff has stated that when arranging covers there is no point in trying to duplicate the original because why would people not just listen to the original in the first place. He says that is not creative and said to arrangers “you are better than that”. VoicePlay’s extraordinarily reimagined covers are what have given them such a loyal following.

Voiceplay always pays homage to the original, but they will never do a copycat version. To see the same members of the group, try their version of Bridge over Troubled Water, or Can't Help Falling in Love.

The partwork series involved the fans chasing both the songs they would sing, and who would sing it. Occasionally everyone is in - but often you see 2 or 3 members taking all of the parts.

@@AceofBadeReacts They're all good, it's really a matter of taste. But it's interesting to look at the ones where they were limited to 2-3 guys doing all of the parts: So, Everywhere You Look is Layne and Earl, Death of a Bachelor is Earl and Geoff, Love Yourself is Eli and Geoff, and Ride has Eli with both Layne and Geoff. Each of them is a gem.

Hi, just wanted to note that Geoff never beatboxes for VoicePlay, he always sings bass and Layne does any beatboxing. However Geoff can beatbox and actually taught Layne how and there is I believe ONE video out there of Geoff beatboxing during the partwork series and I think it’s Death of a Bachelor. But yeah, his bass can sound like a drum beat on occasion because it can be very much percussive sounding 😊

Death of A Batchelor and Love Yourself both have Geoff beatboxing, as does the one spot in Greatest Showman where everyone does.

@@karenponchak5304 Well, if you break it down and pay close attention to what each of them are doing in Greatest Showman it is not actual beatboxing. They are all just making different sounds that anyone could make 😅 I forgot about Love Yourself.

Actually J.None can go pretty high. and low. His range doesn't go as low as Geoff's but it's pretty good. He now sings bass for the Navy's Sea Chanters. As far as high notes are concerned, that's usually Earl's domain but for some reason he didn't have a solo bit in this.

I always think it’s funny that they did not have Earl do a solo. He is known for his super laser high tenor and when I think of Prince I always think of a high voice. But because of the way part works was done I believe the fans chose who got the leads. And it would’ve been far too easy for Earl to carry that line. To really hear Earl show his stuff I would recommend Queen in five minutes.
