Olive Garden is just another American chain restaurant to get loaded up with tasty calories at a decent price, and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. The people who bitch and whine about how "Olive Garden isn't Italian at all" are super annoying to me, because no shit it's not! Olive Garden has never pretended to be Italian or serve authentic Italian food. It's basically the same as going to Taco Bell and then complaining how it's not authentic Mexican cuisine, when it never not once pretended to be Mexican cuisine in the first place!

The food comes there pre-cooked, frozen, and then just poured into a bowl and served! It's disgusting food,and most of it is not Italian at all,like Alfredo, Italian people never heard of it and never would eat it! The noodles are over cooked, but of course they arrive in a bag,so what do you expect! And this is my opinion.

I do agree with everything you say but idk about the part where you mention they don't try and pretend to be real Italian food...I remember seeing hella commercials growing up about how their chefs trained in the hills of Tuscany and all this Bs lol

Our family ate there one in about 1996, and we had a very bad experience. The food was cold and our cheese cake was nearly frozen solid. We never went back since 1996.

It didn't take you long to say the magic word; SALTY!!!. I had a plate of perfectly cooked calimari that was inedible because of the salt in the coating. Their Italian- American style is popular , but the saltiness keeps me away!

Here in America, we don't take our food as seriously as people in Italy do; it's just food, not a human being. If people like fish or meat with their pasta, then they order it with their pasta, or they can order it on the side if they want. Unfortunately, though, most of the ingredients are not as fresh or as authentic as the ingredients found in Italy, and it would be cost prohibitive to import them. So, we have to improvise and substitute the best way that we can.
