two things real quick 1. the black dahlia is a real case, elizabeth short was a real woman. the exact details of what happened are a mystery i believe, but the manner in which she was discovered and the state of her body is a real event that shook the public and became a renown horrific mystery of real life events. 2. 30:48 this scene isn’t moira revealing herself. ben’s perspective and moral will has grown essentially. women see her as she is bc women see into the souls, men see what they want, i think moira literally states that in one of the previous events. this line is about how the house manifests her, i think as an ironic fucked up further punishment for her life and death there. she participated in an affair, a horrible act, but the SA that preceded her death is bc constance’s husband didn’t see her as a person with a soul. he saw her as a sexy maid fetish fantasy he could toy with. idk if this applies for all men who see her but it applies for a man of infidelity and a sleaze like the customer for the house. idk if we ever see how like say the security officer sees her? but that’s an interesting aspect of moira’s character and it’s part of her tragedy. this is why women see an old woman (moira’s actual soul) but the men tend to see the hyper sexualized maid. but ben’s conviction to being faithful and loyal to vivian, actively listening to her, realizing and admitting his mistakes humbly, truly choosing his wife and his family wholeheartedly. these developments in his character and action is why he’s losing that lust that clouded his vision and perspective. hence why moira says congratulations, you’re seeing things as they are finally. at least that’s a theory i heard or maybe i made it up idk if it’s canon but i feel like it is LMFAO i could write an essay about it ig
