This was a family show for me growing up. We all gathered to watch it. My favorite episode is when they had the band Anthrax as guest stars, because I was heavy into thrash metal at the the time, and they were one of my favorites.

These shows were funny. The big women at whom his insults were aimed were in many cases standup comics. When they guest starred on the show, they wrote the jokes/insults themselves. Just as the actress that played Marci not only came up with the idea of having Al call her a chicken, but also wrote many of the insults herself.

Screw these "best of" as a first timeviewer. You need a cpl of full episodes, to let the characters sink on, to get in the right groove

To everyone who likes to bitch about this shows supposed sexism... The women wrote the jokes. Yup. A little research probably would have saved some feminists a little embarrassment. But they apparently couldn't be bothered... Some get it... others... are feminists.

Also, if these feminists were really watching the show, they would see the guys on the show got ripped on just as much as the women. The whole family would mock Al, constantly.
