Great reaction. Dreamgirls is "loosely" based on Diana Ross and the Supremes. The producers were initially going to offer Beyonce the role of Deena without an audition, but were concerned when they went to one of her concerts. They said her voice was too powerful, so they ended up making her audition and she had to show that she could restrain her voice. Whitney Houston was approached to play the role in the early 90s, but they ended up slashing it because she demanded to be able to sing And I Am Telling You which is Effie's big moment. They would have had to change the whole story around to make it fit.

I’m so confused… where’s part 2? This reaction is what brought me to your channel, so please excuse me for being completely ignorant as to how things work here… but I’m assuming that you watched the entire movie in one sitting and yet this was release 3 weeks ago. And yet I don’t see part 2 anywhere? I really enjoyed your reaction and commentary thus far, so I was really looking forward to the rest of your reaction. I understand the full, unedited reaction is on your Patreon (Which makes total sense to me!) but is Part 2 _also_ only available on your Patreon? Is this how all of your movie reactions work? You react to half on KZfaq but then the other half on Patreon? Am I somehow just completely missing the rest of your reaction somewhere here on KZfaq? Or does it normally take you a month to react to one movie in full? (That’s assuming that Dreamgirls is only a 2 parter, when it could _very_ easily be cut up into 3 parts when done like this.)
