Olive's parents are some of the best I've seen in a movie. I don't usually like the parents that act like their children's friends (maybe I don't like the way they're portrayed), but in this case they're just so cool, while parenting their kids the right way. It's rare to see. Also, the scene where she first walks in school with the A on her clothes is iconic.

Yeah the ending is a nod to a combo of 80s teen romance films. "Say Anything" (holding up a boombox outside the window--changed to speakers) "Can't Buy Me Love" (riding off in her backyard on a lawnmower) "Breaskfast Club" (air punch & song remix)

The title is a double entendre, like they joke about with the teacher. An "Easy A" is referring to a class that's easy to pass(I think is a reference to our MC's intelligence) but also, as you guys noticed, a homage to Scarlet Letter.

Will Gluck (the director) did have a small cameo in this movie. He was the Qizno's guy inside the costume that says "You're a slut". If you are interested in watching another movie where Lisa Kudrow is a character that is completely different from her Pheobe character I would suggest The Opposite Of Sex. It stars Christina Ricci but Lisa Kudrow has a very prominent part in it. This was the time in Ricci's career where she was trying to get away from her childhood image of playing Wednesday and her role in the Casper movie to focus on more grown up roles.

@ProfessorNoName - Bit late here but felt bad for Woodchuck todd actor Penn Badgley in your video at the start not able to separate him from his YOU character but when this movie came out in 2010 he was already famous more than Emma stone at that point.He is the perfect lover boy at the time as he played iconic characters Dan humphrey (2007-2012) for 6 seasons in gossip girl with a huge twist at the end of that series and Joe Goldberg in YOU (2018 - Still) which are pretty much his title shows as in his early 20's gossip girl and in his early 30's YOU

@@ProfessorNoName Even if they were to take that direction with this character, it would've been in deeply poor taste since his struggles as a gay teenager in school is very much real, serious and not to be taken lightly, and this movie is over a decade ago where it was a bit harder. It obviously wouldn't be wise to make him unlikable or the worst.

Thus was my first time watching either of you but I really liked both of you. You both enjoyed it and I actually assumed you were older than 22 probably because most of the guys in their early twenties I know would have made a lot worse jokes and come across less thoughtful than you guys did but I’m happily surprised. I always tear up at the part when she runs to religion for an answer. I think it's very apparent a queer person wrote this because it's all about trying to do the right thing, but it never is good enough for everyone else. It's a really interesting, also obviously funny movie, about a smart and morally centered person who is stuck in a role of people pleasing.
