Most people think Jenny got AIDS because that was about the right timing of the outbreak. The people who made the movie have said that Jenny had Hepatitis 3. This disease was not very well understood at that time and was generally fatal. She was at risk for either disease because of her drug and sexual lifestyle.

Tom Hanks has said what Forrest's speech at the capital was; "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don’t go home at all. That’s a bad thing. That’s all I have to say about that.”

She felt safe for the first time in years at Forrest house and I think that's why she slept for so long.

I always believed that the feather represented the intervention of a guardian Angel in Forrest's amazing life. Jenny was not a bad person, the abuse by he Father led to her low self esteem. Her low esteem led to drugs and associating with abusive men. She loved Forrest but didn't consider her self worthy of him or his love. In the movie she supposedly dies of AIDS although in the orignal script it was Hepatitus. Forrest's Son is Haley Joel Osmet who later played the young boy in "The Sixth Sense" and a teenager in "Second Hand Lions".

Forrest would not have had his success in life if it were not for Jenny. Jenny would have not survived if it were not for Forrest. They repeatedly saved each other while they were each working out the effects of their childhoods. The book and the movie are also a history of the U.S. during that time period shown through the lives of Jenny and Forrest.

Bubba Gump Shrimp is still around and it's based on this movie of course.

I cry EVERY time I watch this and it is one of the best movies ever made.

It's not about what we want for Forrest it's about what Forrest wants and we want for him anything he wants and he wanted Jenny...

I have seen this movie so many times but today was the first time I considered when Forrest hears momma is sick, he looks at home first. He always knew where home was.

I don’t think Forrest was slow. He was simple and literal, and he had a way of only seeing things positively. He never spoke ill of anything, anyone, or horrific situation, always describing them in a nice way.

The virus Jenny got was Hepatitis B. This is revealed on the sequel book. Gump & Co.

We all get to where we are somehow. I try to assume there must be something I don’t understand before I judge. (Ya, I still judge some people because I am human.) BUT I’m pretty damn sure that the reason Jenny was so fkt up, and sometimes even a little cruel, is because she was molested and beaten by the only person she had in the world to trust and had no mommy, and probably believed to her core that she was not worthy of love, and couldn’t even withstand kindness being given to her when people actually cared. It didn’t click in her head. So she was almost being kind by sparing Forest from her hurting him., because it was inevitable and she knew it. She was not “fit” or healthy enough to be good for anybody. So she took her own advice and ran, because God did not let her have wings.
