Wildlings are strictly from north of the wall, but the hill tribes are basically the same thing. Technically the hill tribes are the last remnants of the first men, that didn't integrate into the society that the Andals built...

Varys is not a Maester. He is used by the crown as a spy which is why he has the nickname of "The Spider". The old guy who is pretending to be weak is a Maester. His name is Pycelle. Maesters are supposed to abstain from sexual relations but Pycelle sleeps with prostitutes all the time. At Winterfell that old man who we see talking to Bran is a Maester who serves the Starks. Pycelle is a Maester that serves the crown.

Btw, the girl in the first episode was not one of the Children of the Forest. She was just a wildling child that was killed by the White Walker in that carnage that the 3 men of the Night's Watch found. They were tasked with going out to see what the wildlings were up to. She was reanimated by the White Walker to become what they call a wight. Like the man who came back alive that Jon killed. You saw the Nightswatch guy get beheaded by a tall, glowing Blue eyed creature/man who was a White Walker. The one guy who survived told Ned Stark that he saw a White Walker before he, himself was beheaded for being a Deserter from the Watch. The Spider is not a Meister. He is the Master of Whispets and his Luttle Birds are children and servants he pays or supports to bring him information. The old annoying guy in King's Landing that says things like "Treason is Treason!" Is a Meister. As is the one at Winterfell who was healing Bran, and the Old fellow at the wall is a Meister.

The History and Lore vids are a great source of information. You all are doing great. ❤ This is a little long but might help😊 So just a little clarification. The little girl that we see in the very first Episode is a Wildling that gets "touched (as Sam would say) by White Walkers. Not to spoil however you will learn more in this Season about the White Walkers. As you just learned about The Weirwood Trees you know now only in the North and each Castle in the North like Winterfell has a "Great Weirwood Tree". That is not blood but Red Tree Sap..As you have seen there is a Weirwood (as The Lord Commender advised) about a mile North of The Wall as well. If you go back and rewatch that Episode where Littlefinger is walking with Ned , Littlefinger starts pointing out the Septa "reading her book" is his spy, the old man is one of Cersei's spy and the 2 little boys playing in the dirt are Varys a couple of his "littlebirds"... Only "Grand Maester" Pycelle and Maester Luwin have chains.. again in one of the scenes Maester Luwin talks to Bran about his chains and talks about how the link of Valyrian Steel symbolizes the "higher mysteries" a/k/a Magic.. I took me a few rewatches to catch the details, but the more I learned the more I enjoyed. It is so interesting how something happens or is said in one Episode can show up in the next Episode or even the next Season.. The dialogne is brilliant and I have to say is the most important part of this Series. Just enjoyed and rewatch...sometimes watching others react to the same Episode you just watched helps as well...❤

There’s a lot of new information so don’t get discouraged. It will be easier as you go along. A few things…. Varys, ( the spider) is a spy master. He sits on the kings council and is good at obtaining information. Little finger sits on the council as master of coin ( treasurer), Maester Pycell (hunchback with chain, old guy) is the trained healer and teacher for Kings Landing. They all sit on the kings council along with a few others with other titles and responsibilities. Wildlings are people north of the wall. There are different tribes among them that you will come to meet. These are the group that attacked Bran while he was riding. The Hill tribes are the group that attacked Tyrion in the woods. They are south of the wall and although a bit rowdy and uncouth they are still under the kings authority, unlike the wildlings north of the wall. Also, keep in mind that this story is being told by different characters and their own personal perspectives. They each have their own beliefs and knowledge about events past and present. Some information can be different depending on who is telling the story. This is an important aspect of this whole story. No one is the villain in their own story. 😊

Just to give you guy's an Idea of KING ROBERT BARATHEON's stature and His abilities as a warrior in his Prime...Robert was (in the books) : 1) 6ft 6' in Height 2) Jet black hair & Blue Eyes (typical baratheon features) 3) Broad shoulders , 'Muscled like a Maidens Fantasy ' and Built like a beast ( Baratheon features). 4) His weapon of Choice was a Heavy Warhammer, Ned Stark Couldn't even Weild it properly . King Robert was Very skilled with the Sword too. 5) Defeated many Skilled Knights in the Rebellion. Won the Main Fight vs. Rhaegar Ofcourse. 6) His NickNames are , " The Demon " , "The Demon of the Trident " , "The Crowned Stag" , " Horned God " ( Coz of his Antler Helmet ) etc. 7) Powerful Voice that could Command attention and gather Men. 8) Charismatic and Very Good at Befriending People. All we got was his Last days and Fall in the show and Most Fans want to see ROBERT BARATHEON & EDDARD STARK in their Prime. Many of us want "Robert's Rebellion " a TV SHOW or a 3 part Film series.

5:45 No , That just a Wildling girl was a 'Wight' meaning she was Turned By the "White Walkers" into that. The "Children of the forest " are a completely different species you haven't seen Yet. It was a Name given to them by the "First men " because they were Small' dark & beautiful . even Adults wouldn't Grow in stature more than the size of An Adolescent.

There are 24 POV characters in the books series, including characters who do not exist in the tv-show. The books are indeed far more complex, with many characters and entire major storylines having been cut out of the show. There are hundreds of named characters in the show, but the book series reportedly has 2,302 NAMED characters. I would highly recommend reading the books after watching the show, some of the plot of the books will obviously have been spoiled, but many major plot points in the show are very different than in the in the books. Some things that happen to certain characters in the show happen to entirely different people in the books. many characters have been omitted, or merged with other one, and entire story arcs have been dispensed with. At least one important character in the show doesn't even exist in the books, and ends up in a completely different place compared to their counterpart in the show. Some characters who became very popular in the show had their part greatly expanded from their role in the books. And of course almost all of the major characters in the show have been aged ups significantly. In the books, both Robb and Jon are 14 when the story begins. Sansa is 11, not 13. Arya is 9, Bran is 7, and Rickon is 3. Ned is 35 and Catelyn is 34. King Robert is 36 in the first book, while queen Cersei and her twin brother Jamie are 32. Tyrion is 25. Daenerys had just turned 13 when she married Khal Drogo. She was aged up to 16 or 17 for an obviously less child-rapy vibe on her wedding night. Maybe the only character who wasn’t aged up for the show is Theon Greyjoy, who is 19 at the start of both the show and the book series. In the books the rebellion happened 14 years ago, not 18.

Though it is not mentioned in the television version (and might not be the case at all), in the books Robert Baratheon’s grandmother was a Targaryen Princess, so not such a distant relation at all. He was a first or second cousin of the Mad King.

53:23 King Robert Baratheon's grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen , a Pure Targaryen Princess. She was Aunt of MAD KING Aerys. So Robert is Closely related to the Targaryens. Actually George R.R. Martin (Author of the Books) Didn't Fully flesh out the Targaryen Line of Kings and their children when these Video's were made. He did in his 2018 Book FIRE & BLOOD. The new Prequel show "House of the Dragon" is based on a PART of that BOOK.

The Night’s Watchman who Ned beheaded saw the white walkers, not just what they did. The creatures that killed his comrades were White Walkers. The dead girl pinned to the tree was just a wildling girl, not one of the Children of the Forrest. The Children of the Forrest were not actual children, nor even human beings, but a completely different species. The name given to them by the First Men (the original human settlers of Westeros) only referred to their small physical stature. Ned told Bran after the execution that nobody has seen White Walkers for thousands of years. According to the mythology of the Seven Kingdoms, about 8 000 years ago, long before any history was recorded in writing. So all they know about White Walkers (actually mostly called The Others in the novels), is what was passed down orally for thousands of years before any of the history/mythology was written down. Which is to say, they ‘know’ virtually nothing, and everything they have heard or read about them is myth and supposition. It is like us saying we ‘know’ what happened in the Trojan War, or with Noah’s Arc.

Awesome how you guys discuss the story with each other. The story is just not as straight forward as many think though. Quite a bit of it is kinda hidden, I think. The magic gets stronger in book 3. More and more magic, starting with book 3.
