He was like.. we could as well have been in a tent in a warm studio, at daytime. But to be true. Remember even though Jon is a bastard, he comes from a very prominent house. He probably came to the house with that fur whereas most other brothers of the nights watch came because they are criminals being punished. One exception being Sam, and we know his dad barely let him leave his house with his life, much less a fur.

Tywin touching Jaime with his dirty hands is symbolic of the conversation they're having: Tywin is reminding Jaime of an uncomfortable truth: he has spent 2 decades in a dead-end job, rather than living up to his father's high expectations of him as the first-born son. Just as Jaime is discomforted by the dirty hands, he is also discomforted by the conversation. Filmmakers often do this sort of dual-symbolism to reinforce the feeling of a scene, combining the physical with the emotional.

Mindset issue: in my opinion Ashley has the right mindset. She is watching the show, paying attention to details. Reminder that this is an amazing show with a kind of complex story line. Lindsay personality is getting in the way. She is always trying to find the funny thing with basically every part of the show, so her mindset has to do a 180 when there is a tragedy (there are tons of tragedy during the entire show). Lindsay will find herself joking 5 seconds before something horrible happens. Making comments to everything is also going to cause her to missed important lines that might be link to seasons 7 and 8. Reminder: the show is a drama. Is an amazing show. Is more important to watch the show than to write down notes.

If you had a culture where bastards could inherit land, titles, positions, or crowns from their father, that feels like it would _also_ be a culture that didn't have much use for the concept of bastardry in the first place. So... if there's any meaning beyond academic linguistic to being called a bastard, I think you can be fairly confident they're not in the line of succession.

I understand people feeling that Petyr talking about Cat coupled with the "distractions" is weird to some 😂 But personally I thought it was the opposite. I believe the purpose of the scene is to show precisely how normal the situation is for all the people involved. So normal, in fact, that it's not strange to talk about anything at the same time. I found it an interesting scene for that reason!

sadly to say....for those who KNOW the story already (i won't give away any spoilers).....but in truth, Ned really is NOT an honorable man. He IS a passionate man who tries to do the right thing.....yet he is constantly in a position where he needs to break his vows to do the right thing (the right thing as he sees it).....and Honor is about keeping your vows, even when the right thing says to do something else it is better to be a passionate man who tries to do the right thing, than an honorable man who obeys his vows no matter what Ned Stark is NOT honorable.....he is a passionate man trying to do the RIGHT thing....not the "honorable thing"

I found out a couple of months ago GOT was inspired by The War of the Roses. So I've been watching everything I can on this war between the house of Lancaster and house of York on youtube. I've found it as interesting and intriguing as Game of Thrones. Especially the women involved and the games they played or were played on them to Crown Henry the VII as king.

The Tudors is another great show if you wanted to see the aftermath of the War Of The Roses. King Henry 7th came from the House of Tudor, but the show heavily focuses on King Henry 8th and his marriages/conquests. It's really interesting and the show does a good job blending drama and real history, and showing the impact of the downfall of the House Of Tudor giving way to the House Of Stuart. Also, Margaery Tyrell's actress plays Anne Boleyn, Henry the 8th's 2nd wife. The Crown is another great show about the British monarchy, but they mainly focus on the kings/queens over the last 100 years or so which would be the House Of Windsor. The newest season will be about Princess Diana and King Charles.

People often identify so strongly with Jon so strongly that they don't see him as a brat lol. Every older person he meets tries to humble him in a soft way, except perhaps Alliser. The thing about his clothes, while serving a tv purpose, does kinda highlight that he gets the chance to be different. Born a bastard but still raised a noble and had a quality of life 1000x better than someone like Pip. Sam, too. Which is why his dismissal of Pip to hype Jon up is a bit of a nasty moment. There's a certain other character whom his story parallels a bit in their disillusionment of the nobility of the knights and brave people from stories that people are less forgiving of but I won't harp on that again lol.

I know you don’t want to reveal spoilers and I totally understand BUT there is so much they have already seen and missed and you just let it go! Like why Ned gave Cersei a heads up about getting ready to tell King Robert the truth about Joffrey and Cersei/Jamie, bc he didn’t want to see them all killed by Robert, he wasn’t trying to hold leverage over her as Lindsey thought…also why they want Sansa to marry Joffrey to solidify their houses not bc they care about Sansa bc Joffrey and Cersei hate Sansa, they are only using her but you didn’t explain that either, about the houses and their names and titles, wildlings, etc…or that Jorah was the one on King Robert’s side trying to earn a pardon for the crime that Ned banished him for but then he actually stopped the poisoning of Dany…or that Jamie/cersei isn’t allowed and won’t be accepted…you say nothing lol 😂 I think it would be very helpful to them Just some constructive criticism with the best intentions ❤ Still I really enjoy your reactions, I just finished this show about a month ago and I’m obsessed with reactions haha… Good luck with the channel ladies and be well ❤

It's not all THAT important but kind of interesting to think about the difference between the two main religions we've seen so far. "The Seven" is sort of like Christianity, and "The Old Gods" like Paganism in Dark Ages Europe. "The Seven" is seen as slightly more civilized and advanced, the main religion of the South of Westeros, which you might connect with southern England, and probably France, Italy, etc. "The Old Gods" are more associated with the North, which is analogous to the Pagan areas of Scandinavia and the Baltic countries.

Parts of this episode aren't too well directed, in my opinion. Especially Jorah's big decision. The thing he has wanted for years - a pardon, to return to Westeros a free man, perhaps a reconciliation with his father - is all there in his hand. He looks across and realises what's about to happen. He suddenly realises that his new life is more important than the old, and he goes over and saves Dany, and turns his back on the past. It's a huge thing, a turning point, yet I've seen many people not realise it's even happened. They remember Drogo's speech, Cersei tearing the paper, Littlefinger's treachery - but to me that moment with the little bird, the pardon and Jorah Mormont is really special, and yet it's directed so flat and hurried. Just my two gold dragon's-worth, what do I know? Not sure I've commented on here before, but I'm really enjoying these reactions. Often, having more than two on a panel doesn't work for me, but this one really does. More predictions!

🤓Stefani needs to do a tutorial for other co-reactors who lead a complete noob through a movie or series. Virtually no one else I’ve seen has been as spoiler-sterile as Stefani. Less mature folks cannot control their urge to show their knowledge, in one fashion or another. They ask leading questions at exactly the wrong time, make facial expressions that prepare the noob for a jump scare or shocking event, something, but they cannot contain themselves like Stefani does. I wonder if she’s ever considered a career in teaching? That’s a primary skill set. You know something the student does not. Do you lecture and explain, or allow the student to develop the conclusion from their own reasoning process? Many teachers/professors do not have the patience and awareness to use the Socratic Method, yet we know it’s one of the most effective tools in developing critical thinking skills in students. Likewise with counseling/therapy. “You’re like this!” does not work for helping a patient develop self-awareness. They walk themselves through their self, with the counselor as a thought provoker, but not a guide. This is a serious, professionally applicable skillset that Stefani is displaying for us. It has applications that could help a lot more people in the real world, in far more life-enhancing ways, than merely entertaining folks re-watching their favorite shows.❤‍🔥

Ned is not as honorable as he seems. The moment he realized what was in the book he should have had the king's hunting party tracked down and delivered the good news. Didn't do it fine. But then the queen tells you to your face about the deception, and he didn't chop her in half, he didn't arrest her, didn't harm a hair on her head, or her p.o.s. crowned prince bastard. But when even Littlefinger makes his case for treason to him (which to his credit at least he refuses) he doesn't even warn Littlefinger because he wants to use him. But why? He should know by now the guy is p.o.s., even when grouping him alongside other pimps he would stand out as the worst. He never says anything that would make believe he isn't a bad guy. Ned should know better.

Love how you don't even realize you just described him being honourable, I think you have a different type of code/honour because he's honourable to a fault that's his whole character

A little less joking and more paying attention. A joke squeezed in every 20 seconds is not necessary.

If there's something I have noticed across several reaction videos of GoT is that women seem to like Khal Drogo for reasons that have little to do with his character. The man raped Dhaenerys in the first times, it was non-consensual. He is also ok in enslaving and even claiming women as spoils of war, but somehow that always seems to go over the head of female streamers/tubers.

Consent is a modern concept. In fact, until about 50 years ago, it was legally impossible for a husband to rape his wife. Judging Drogo by 21st century standards is a little silly. These characters should only be judged within the context of time and place.

@@havok6280 Weird thing to look at consent through the eyes of the law like there wasn't such a thing as a notion of rape, when historical books (personal written testimonies) prove otherwise. The notion of rape did exist (and even in GoT universe) - the man literally shouted the word rape in his native tongue in this same exact episode. You could at least attempt to contextualize my comment instead of assuming that I am virtue signaling. What I am implying is that female viewers like Drogo for 2 reasons: his looks; they're projecting themselves through Daenerys when the couple share clear displays of affection toward one another. I did that observation because it's mildly interesting to me, nothing more.
