Adam Sandler is actually only 3 years older than Julie Bowen. So it's a surprisingly small age gap as far as Hollywood goes
@thekaizobro99714 ай бұрын
Why the hell does it even matter? They’re clearly both adults. It was bizarre how he kept fixating on it.

They are both playing mid-late 20s. She's probably playing a character with a masters degree.
@jillmayer95014 ай бұрын
I found it strange too but I think maybe it's the characters styles in the movie. Adam dresses a bit like a teenager and she looks like a buisness woman most of the time. Common in the 90s but I can see why he could think there's an age gap@@thekaizobro9971

Christopher McDonald (Shooter) was outstanding in this. The finger guns thing he does is his own improvising as well. They never explain specifically why he's called Shooter in the script, so he added that.

I heard the CHOKE ON THAT BABY was also improv cuz he made a bet with some of the production team that’d be nail the putt in a certain number of tries 😂

That long ago, Subway didn’t toast their sandwiches yet. That came along a lot later. Also, if you look closely, the bread is cut “the old way”, the way Subway used to do it before they changed to a more traditional way of cutting sub sandwich bread. (“The old way” was the superior method for meatball subs.)

Glad you enjoyed it so much. This movie isn't my favorite Adam Sandler film but it has a special nostalgic place in my heart because my dad and I loved watching it together when I was a kid. My dad always laughed his ass off at the Bob Barker tournament segment, especially the fight between them. Since we only watched it on TV some of the lines were changed to accommodate a PG rating and in that scene they changed "the price is wrong, bitch!" to "the price is wrong, Bobby" and I've always thought the edited line was funnier.

As a guy who grew up in Vancouver, Canada in the early 80s, I heard stories about Carl Weathers, who played for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League. Canadian Football is similar to American football, but the emphasis is a lot more on athleticism than just being big. The biggest guys are about 50-70 pounds lighter in our league than in the US. Weathers was a linebacker who weighed in at 220 pounds. Very athletic guy, obviously, since he passed for a boxer in Rocky. He also was in one of the most 80s action movies ever and a homage to 70s blaxploitation films, Action Jackson. Pretty funny action flick. But again, very 80s. Sharon Stone and Vanity, one of Prince's girls, play the ladies of the movie. It's a fun movie. I think he was in Predator with Arnold as well.

Billy Madison was historically my favorite because it was the first one I'd seen and he was the most insane in that one. It came out on the heels of a very successful Saturday Night Live run as well as a highly popular at the time comedy album release that was pretty filthy. Stuff that'd never get on the air with SNL.

We had a driving range near where I grew up, and we used to sneak in at night and there was always someone who'd just left a rental club behind, so I'd practice doing the two step swing, and it fucking works. Several times I'd split the ball in two, but when the club connected I'd clear the entire driving range.

"Who IS this guy?!?!" He played the Bond villain with metal teeth, Jaws, in two films. He's just a beast of a guy who was nigh unkillable. Real name Richard Kiel. Is this my favorite Sandler film? It's definitely up there. This is where he kind of cemented his formula for feel good movies. That said, the best non-Sandler acting Sandler film stars the homeless caddy in this. Grandma's Boy. It's amazing.
