This may very well be my favorite musical of all time. Not that this is saying much.

I agree. The only down side for me were the recent political episodes. The old ones mocked everybody. They didn't pick a side and found comedy material in splitting the group. Recently they have gone full anti-republican, which is their right to be, but was not that funny like the older ones.

@@ESJonas I think that's something for you to go back and re-examine. While the show has gotten more explicit and less subtle in its criticism, the show has ALWAYS had a left-wing bend. Go back and watch the earlier seasons again, and you can see this. For example, whenever Carmen shows up, even though The Gang refers to her as "the Tranny" very often (which is very definitely not acceptable in modern society) the actual show doesn't seem to really have a problem with Carmen being trans. There's a few jokes about her having a penis, but the main source of the jokes are Mac being insecure in being romantically involved with a trans person, even though she clearly makes him happy. I mean hell, the show depicts two random dudes in Philly immediately rushing to the defense of her after Mac accidentally punches her, which is a stark difference to most shows and movies from the early 2000s where transgender people were depicted as disgusting, deceptive or worthy of derision. After all, most comedies that depicted trans people were still pulling the "joke" where once a character learned another character was trans, they would usually throw up or freak out, some even do violence to the trans person. In short, I agree the commentary has become more overt and less subtle, the politics of the show have not really changed all that much. They're simply adjusting the writing, since if your goal is to satirize conservatism, you have to really go crazy with it to out-compete the actual conservative movement in America

That's what's happening. They always tended left but that didn't stop them from finding good joke material in both sides. They now just decided to ignore any joke material in the left and joke about the republicans only. That's their right. I just think they lose a lot of good comedy with that. Look at how they joke about both sides about guns show how wrong both sides can be. Those episodes are so funny. How they joke both about those who don't believe in evolution and those who blindly believe in it. Those episodes are so funny and not preachy. But... People have different tastes. For me. When comedy becomes preaching it kinda becomes less funny.

Even better than Cats. And way less gay.

Just as I thought... I am from Brazil and they look like some of my friends and even my own appearance a little. (Of course we Brazilians are not Hispanic, we don't speak Spanish and don't come from Spain, but the mix of European, indigenous and African is kinda the same) Of course there's no such a thing as Latino race or Hispanic race. South America is a big mix.

Honestly, it's probably Frank "gotta make the lips funny" Reynolds. Dude was shocked that drivers ed didn't teach about Asians on the road and associates Jews with greed. Dee is a good second, though.
