2:19 - The original cast had made a pact, they wouldn’t do anything related to Scott Pilgrim unless they all could come back, they have always been a family 😊

Fan fact: Julie was Envy's roommate in college and Julie hated her back then. She's the one who introduced her to Scott.

So that's what I like about this animated series is that it touches more on Ramona. In the movie there was just too much missing including Ramona's own issues that the comics went into. The animated series does go about everything in a new way. Everything in the show is all new content aside from Ramona's relationship issues with her Ex's and Scott's relationship issues.

A bit of a guilty pleasure, but it's so nice to see swearing in a cartoon. Like, especially a show that takes place in Toronto, it would feel so weird if no one swore. A good couple episodes for sure.

What's weird is, the thing where Kim was kidnapped by a rival school? Never happened. The guy, Simon Lee, was not some gang leader but merely some nerdy kid that she dated. Scott beat him up, and apparently Kim screwed Simon over too (though she doesn't explain how). Scott later came to remember this event as this whole rescue scenario (either because he edited his own memories or because Gideon did), but Kim remembers how it really happened. Except in this anime. I'm not sure why. Lucas Lee mentions Winifred Hailey. She was a 16 year old actress in the books. Roxie created clones of her to attack Scott, which is when Ramona puppeted Scott to fight them because he wouldn't hit a girl.

Sleep paralysis is the single scariest experience I have had in my life, so I have to agree with Oak on that one.
@SirAwesomeVille8 ай бұрын
I've experienced sleep paralisys a couple of times. It's horrible. But what's really freaky to me is how consistent the accounts of sleep paralisys are from people around the world. Why is there always a demon watching??
@lolokay91568 ай бұрын
It really sucks
@fernandobanda57348 ай бұрын
Being in a state where you are conscious but your body thinks it's asleep is extremely weird for our brain, so we come up with the craziest internal explanations for it. This kind of post-facto justification also happens, for example, when depression makes you feel sad (you try to figure out what makes you sad when it's just chemistry) or when you feel paranoia (you end up believing the FBI is after you or that your friends are conspiring against you). Not everyone imagines a literal demon or an entity. However, it's one of the most hallucinations because if you're trying to move and you can't, it must be because someone is stopping you. Cultural beliefs are also likely to be similar so if everyone in a community believes for example in Satan and fears him, it's likely they all come up with that figure. I myself never see a "demon". Instead I imagine myself getting up and when I see that I didn't, I think I must be so tired or dreaming that I fell back to the bed, because I have sleep issues (and probably some fair amount of trauma about them). It's only after the sleep paralysis that I realize it had nothing to do with dreams or tiredness.

@@fernandobanda5734 that's a fascinating point of view, and I think it must be true. Amazing the length our brains goes to visuallize our feelings and sometimes make it physically tangible almost
@bareakon3 ай бұрын
@@SirAwesomeVilleAlso our brains are pretty hard wired to recognise faces in things. It's called Pareidolia. So if you're paralysed in the dark and you need an explanation, the first thing your panicking brain is gonna perceive the wallpaper, floaters in your eyes, imperfections in the ceiling, etc as is gonna be a kinda twisted face. Like a demon's face.

33:00 so after hearing that. Can we all agree for a hot fuzz reaction?
@its_nukatron7 ай бұрын
I second what Oak said about sleep paralysis...I don't wish it on anyone, especially when you see things. I thought demons were breaking into my room and a giant cloaked skeleton was whispering a foreign language, and I couldn't move or blink or breathe. Woke up in a cold sweat and high heart rate, I think it was stress from overworking at the time.
@BigSlimyBlobАй бұрын
I suppose I'm lucky that I never experienced anything like that. Though the feeling of being unable to move no matter how much I wanted to was unsettling enough on its own. Thankfully that's all a thing of the past. All my sleep issues vanished in a matter of weeks when I stopped eating plants.
@its_nukatron7 ай бұрын
Since no one mentions it here, the ninja paparazzi are based off the Scott Pilgrim video game (super fun 4-player beat-em-up, y'all should play it). In fact a lot of the references in this anime are from the movie, graphic novel, AND video game (effects, characters, music, etc)

I know absurdism and abstract art are like the cliche for what people think of as stoner entertainment but it really typically isn't. This and the film would be terrible things to watch inebriated. You'd miss basically everything it's trying to say and explore, and the editing of the film especially would probably be overwhelming without a clear head. Actual stoner entertainment is generally something extremely simple that requires little to no brainpower so that it basically becomes visual white noise.
