As an englishman, it's honestly hard to put into words how good Brad Pitt is with the piky/traveller accent, like most English people can't do it that well, and it's an accent exclusive to us, so fair play to him for that, like they say in the film, it's not English, it's not irish, it's just, you know, piky

11:19 I think you completely missed the fact that Brad Pitt's character was taking a shit behind that car! 12:51 Brad Pitt actually got paid a pittance for being in this film. He loved 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels', he called Guy Ritchie up, asking for a role, screw his A-List Hollywood salary, he wanted in! Ritchie gave him the role of Mickey. Pitt had just finished Fight Club, where he got paid $20 million, so he wasn't short of money, and still in incredible shape. Years later, it helped him as the guy who is sitting to his left at 16:50 is Jason Flemyng, who played his biological dad in 'Benjamin Button'. Flemyng was surfing somewhere in the world, enjoying life, when Pitt and David Fincher asked him to be in the film. Initially, Flemyng didn't want to be in it, but remembered how much fun Pitt was during the filming of 'Snatch' that he agreed. 33:58 When the dog bit the man, it actually bit his mobile phone. If he didn't have his phone in his pocket, the dog would have got his testicles. There were DEEP bite marks on that phone !!!!

Stephen Graham lives in a village 5 miles away from my village. I've bumped into him quite a fews times in and around the small town that sits equidistant east of the two villages. He just walks around, grabs a Greggs snack and whatever. First time my friend and I recognised him he looked across to us and nodded, so we just nodded back. The next time we saw him he was walking his dog. He actually came across and said hello. Chatted for about 15 minutes about normal stuff like fishing and music and football. We asked if he gets any crazy fans pester him when he's not filming and comes home for a while. He said, nah, not really, which is why I love it here. People just let me go about my business like a normal bloke, he said. Still see him from time to time and it's normally just a nod or a cap doff or a "How'do?" Not many actors are like that nowadays. Even bit part actors in soap operas tend to be up their own arses, so it's refreshing seeing someone with legitimate credentials and fame just buck the trend.

Back in 2003 I played this movie for some friends during a movie night. None of them could keep up with what was happening because they would leave to get a beer, have a quick chat, etc. Basically, they didn't pay close enough attention to all the little things in the movie for it to make sense. This movie isn't a "lazy watch". You have to keep on top of it or you'll lose track of the plot. That being said, it is a great movie.

I'm sure it's been commented on plenty but the only Guy Ritchie gangster film which matches the quality of Snatch, arguably surpasses it, is his first one, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" ... it is a bonafide classic. There are 1 or 2 others worth checking out such as "The Gentlemen" and the under-rated "RocknRolla" - both are decent Ritchie Gangster flicks but neither quite manages to connect with that Guy Ritchie sweet-spot that makes "Lock, Stock" and "Snatch" such exemplars of that very specific genre

This is the second film in a sort of trilogy. Different movies, but similar style and same director _(also a lot of crossover actors)_ The other two are Lock Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels _(which was mentioned)_ and RocknRolla, with Gerard Butler. If you haven't seen them, I recommend them. Great movies.

Of all the great characters in this film, Brick Top is easily the most underrated. Brilliant performance by Alan Ford. As a little aside, watch Snatch Wars on KZfaq, Snatch meets Star Wars with Darth Vader voiced by Brick Top, hilarious. Dennis Farina also looks like he really enjoyed playing cousin Avi as well, another brilliant performance.

This and Love, Honour and Obey are my two favourite gangster films and both are extremely funny. We have made some great movies over the years but America doesn't seem to take to movies from elsewhere, or they do second rate remakes like the Hollywood versions of The Italian Job and Get Carter. You should also watch Trainspotting and the greatest comedy film ever made, The Life Of Brian.

I know one thing America can't do social realism that's for sure . And this film and love and honour they're ok they're great films actually but they're comedy films so for me they can never be up there with the likes of The long Good Friday or shooters Liverpool crime film (on KZfaq if you haven't seen it ) or Sexy beast or get Carter . For me those are the best IMO even dead mans shoes which on the surface is a revenge film but I'd lump it in there with those gangster films because it centres around a gang

Brad Pit’s accent is Irish traveller. They also have their own secret language where they flip Irish and English words: the Irish for girl is colleen but travellers would say lackeen, or “ me biyor is going doin ’ the gabbin” meaning my girlfriend (biyor is supposedly a mix of bird and whore) is out begging. In England Irish travellers mixed and intermarried with Roma gypsies which created another mixed slang. The English call all travellers picky. Dunno if you’ve checked out Peaky Blinders, drama about a traveller/Roma gangster family in 1920’s Birmingham.

Everything you said there is true except for the words lackeen or biyor; there not Irish Traveller sayings; they are Irish. Most people in Ireland use them. Lackeen is a very old word and Biyor either started in Dublin or Limerick.

Guy R hired a vocal coach to work with Brad Pitt to help him develop an Irish accent. The vocal coach said to Guy, I'm not being funny but he can't do the accent and there is no way i can teach him to learn one. So Guy just told Brad to basically ramble on with a kind of Irish accent. At the end of the day it made Brad even better in the movie. ❤❤

That shotgun at 15:15 is the Franchi SPAS-12. It's just a 12 Gauge shotgun, no more or less powerful than any other 12g. The reason it was banned was because of the "1994 Assault Weapons Ban" passed by congress, which banned the importation of foreign made "assault weapons". Due to it's magazine capacity, folding stock, and semi-auto functionality, it fell under the ban, as it was made in France. When the ban ended in 2004 Franchi had stopped making it. They're perfectly legal to own and import now and vary wildly anywhere from a $1000 to $3000 on the used market.
