I watched the 1992 film Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot, starring Sylvester Stallone and Estelle Getty. What a duo! Nobody outshines my Sophia though, not even Rocky! Getty was simply the star of this film, no question about it.

Fun fact: Stallone was tricked by Arnold Schwarzenegger into starring in this movie as Stallone heard a rumor that Arnold was interested in starring in it making him decide that he wanted to star in it swooping in to take the part from Arnold only for Stallone to later find out that it was Arnold who put the rumor out himself. Stallone would go on to call this the most embarrassing movie of his career.

According to a Jimmy Kimmel interview of Arnold. Arnold told stallone he was going to do the movie

I was glad that Stallone did a few intentional comedies - this and OSCAR. The fact that the filmmakers cast Estelle pretty much cemented it's place in film history.

I heard that Stallone signed on to star in this movie, because he heard that Arnold Schwarzenegger was interested in the role. Funny thing was that Arnold said that as a joke and Sly believed it!

2:20 this always bugged me cause Joe being a seasoned cop would not leave his gun in laundry basket. 15:33 Estelle Getty is also great in the movie Mannequin. I loved how Stallone’s character was tired of his mom treating him like and kid and how throughout the movie they got closer and he was happy having her around and she realized she has to treat him differently. I don’t think this movie would’ve worked well if they had a good relationship from the start.

So, I’m at the very start of this reaction _and_ I haven’t seen “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!” in _easily_ 25 years. (JFC I’m old. LOL.) Anyway, I can’t imagine that it’s much of a film masterpiece, however, I do recall absolutely *LOVING* it when I was a kid, so it holds a very special, nostalgic place, in my heart! And I’m _loving_ your reaction thus far! (And it actually is still a pretty adorable/fun/exciting/entertaining movie!) Thanks so much for reacting to it, Kat!! BTW, I would *LOVE* to see you react to *Last Action Hero* as well as it’s another fabulous piece of nostalgic gold locked away in my heart! I’ll _never_ forget seeing it in theaters as a little one! Though I do realize that you never seem to take/do requests. Thus I’ll be sure not to hold my breath. 😔 Oh well. Yet again, _terrific_ reaction, Kat! Thanks again!

Thanks :D I do take requests, I do write every single one of them down, there are just so many of them (which I am eternally grateful for!) that it can take me a while to get to most of them. Most of the videos I react to are films that someone has requested at some point :D

@@katreacts6843 Oh! I love to hear that you do, in fact, take requests. I have no idea _why_ I was under the impression that you _didn’t_ take them. That’s totally my bad! And I can only _imagine_ how INSANELY long your “request list” must be! I’m sure it’s a bit overwhelming! But I’m excited to watch your reaction to *Last Action Hero* eventually! (Even though I know it’s gonna be quite awhile, even when you post 5 times a week! Hahaha. Again, I’m sure that your list is CRAZY!) Thanks again, Kat!

Rather underrated movie imho, it is fun, even though many people do not like it.

This one has a bad reputation, but I agree that it's fun. Estelle is so sweet and is just trying to be helpful! I think it's due for a remake with Betty White and John Cena (or Dave Bautista). 😁

Estelle Getty rose to fame late in life with the smash TV hit, Golden Girls. I grew up watching that show. You know, a lot of reactors also watch TV series. I recommend you do a full Golden Girls reaction if you haven't watched it already. Fun Fact: When Estelle Getty is showing pictures of her son to people on the plane, the black and white picture of a boy in a checkered shirt is Sylvester Stallone as a young boy. The same picture was used in Rocky (1976), and sits on Rocky's mirror.

Kat Reacts ...Even though you had watched it, there's no reason not to rewatch it again. I don't remember every episode. I'm sure you would also be unique. Why watch shows everyone else is watching? Just something to think about.

@@BigGator5 very true :D I tend to be drawn to shows that nobody else is watching, and, the older the better. Right now I am caught up in The Dick Van Dyke Show and A Date With The Angels, starring a young Betty White :D

If you like Getty...I love her.. Not a great flick this one.. She's got a small part but I loved her in "Mannequin".. also 80s sitcom mainstay Meshack Taylor from "Designing Women"..

Now I myself liked this movie from beginning to end. With Oscar, I watched a little and shut it off, horrible. Another crazy Stallone movie you should try is Rhinestone (1984). Dolly Parton is given the task of teaching Stallone to sing country. How's that for a premise.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this movie. My experience was ..... less..... positive, but people like what they like. It doesn't have to get more complicated than that. Keep up the good work and thank you for helping us to watch these movie memories with fresh eyes.
