FAQ: (Questions that are asked to me OFTEN, will answer here)
Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if KZfaq denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

By the time he got to the blood they had him questioning reality. They gave him rice and made him think it was maggots. They gave him noodles and made him think it was worms. So by the time he got to the blood he wasn't trusting his senses and figured it really was just wine.

The Lost Boys is an absolute classic from the 80’s featuring “ The Corey’s”. Unfortunately, Feldman and Haim both have had a very difficult life in the movie industry. Haim died very young due to drug addiction while Feldman has been very outspoken about the mental and physical abuse both of them suffered, along with many other child actors, in the film industry. Joel Schumacher really has made some amazing films throughout his career that it’s a shame he’s remembered for the horrible Batman films he did. Definitely check out his other great film work in films like “Phone Booth” and “Flawless”. They are top notch.

Ever wonder how Kiefer Sutherland got his first name? Well, his dad, Donald Sutherland was a well-known actor in his time as well. M*A*s*H (the 1970 motion picture) starred him as Hawkeye Pierce. The movie, of course, launched a long running TV series starring Alan Alda in that role. Other films he was in (in no particular order) include the HUNGER GAMES trilogy) BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1992) which ALSO launched a TV series you may have seen. DR. TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS (1965) in which he shared the screen with the Rover Boys of Hammer Films---Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee who were moonlighting at Amicus Films for this one. But check out the name of the Director on Donald's star turn as THREE characters in the movie that came out just before that. THE CASTLE OF THE LIVING DEAD (also with Christopher Lee) Released in 1964. It was directed by Warren Kiefer.

"It was all going to be so perfect, Lucy. Just like one big, happy family. Your boys... and my boys." This movie is a Peter Pan allegory. Max is Peter Pan, Lucy is Wendy, Michael/Sam are Wendy's brothers, the Frog Brothers are Captain Hook/Mr. Smee, and Star is Tinkerbell or Tiger Lily. Once you pick up on the allegory, it becomes a totally different movie. There's been sequels and a remake, but they never understood this concept and just become stupid vampire movies. Fun Fact: This was Corey Haim and Corey Feldman's first film together, which marked the start of a popular "The Two Coreys" trend in which Feldman and Haim starred together in a number of teenage films. Fire Stunt Fact: In the dinner with Max and the Frog brothers, Alan puts out candles with his fingers. Nobody told (Jamison Newlander) that he had to wet his fingers first, so he ended up getting burnt. In later takes, he dipped his hands in a basin of water before putting out the candles. Tourist Attraction Fact: Two men can be seen playing pinball the second time Sam visits the comic shop. The guy with the facial hair is Joe Ferrara II, who actually owned the comic shop Atlantis Fantasyworld. The comic shop has now moved location but is still owned by Joe. The new location of the Atlantis Fantasyworld comic book store, which was featured in the film still carries the original #1 issue of 'Vampires Everywhere' that Sam reads in the film. The comic was created only for the film, and its opening page is signed by all of the cast members from the movie. The owner Joe Ferrara II allows any shopper to hold it and take a photo with it free of charge.

The very first vampire movie was a French short film called The House of the Devil or Le Manor du Diable in 1896. The most famous go to 1922 German silent film Nosferatu. Then came Universal Studios monster films, including the iconic Bela Lugosi as Dracula in 1931. Both Corey Feldman and Corey Haims were known as The Two Coreys as they were in high demand for young actors in the 80s and were featured in a few films together. Who is Jason Patric? Let's make a connection. His costar Alex Winter, one of the vampire goons, plays Bill in all of the Bill & Ted trilogies, starring alongside Keanu Reeves. Reeves would star in a little-known film with Sandra Bullock called Speed. Bullock would continue to star in Speed 2, the sequel, and Jason Patric would step in as the new love interest and hero instead of Reeves, who did not return.

I've only recently seen "Nosferatu" myself, and in fact the REASON I saw it was... when I did a recent re-watch of my lifelong favorite here (The Lost Boys) and FINALLY got curious enough about the mention of "Nosferatu" during the film! The line was (by the Frog Brothers coming into the house) "Where's Nosferatu?" I was like, "WHO?!?" So I did some googling and was like "OH!" :) For such an old film, Nosferatu definitely had some respectable really creepy moments... I encourage anyone who hasn't seen it, to give it a try :D

I was way too young to have seen this while it was in the theaters, BUT I WAS introduced at a still-quite-young age of probably 8 (I was already a budding horror movie fanatic, having seen "House" already at I forgot-what-age lol). I was totally hooked-for-life on yes the soundtrack and just overall "badass-ness" of those vampires, lol. The funny thing is, since that's probably the first vampire film I ever saw, I thought that's how ALL vampires were supposed to be... UNTIL I saw Salem's Lot, LOL!

Diane Wiest has an extensive filmography (I believe she is an Academy Award winner). Her most famous roles are in The Lost Boys, Footloose, and Edward Scissorhands. Corey Haim was a famous child/teen star in the 80's. In the late 80's he was normally paired with Corey Feldman earning them the title "the two Coreys". Some of his roles are "Firstborn" which is an underrated movie where his characters mother ends up dating an abusive man. Silver Bullet, The Lost Boys, License to Drive, Dream a Little Dream.

First Vampire story, as far as I know, was Dracula. Bram Stoker had a dream about a monstrous man with glowing red eyes and fangs. He wrote Dracula, merging it with accounts of Vlad Dracule, aka Vlad the Impailer, a sadistic, tyrant Romanian ruler, and a countess who bled women dry and used their blood to stay young. The first Dracula movie was Nosferantu. As for the question of how Michael didn't know he was drinking blood, he had just been tricked into thinking he had eaten maggots and worms. So when Star said he was drinking blood, he ofcoutse thought it was a trick. And in my opinion, if he could hallucinate visually, his other senses could be effected as well. Finally, it's a well known part of Vampire lore that they have to be invited in, but most people didn't catch that detail first time around. Oh, and you may want to check out Stephen King's Salems Lot, just for fun. I liked the book better, but the movie was cool.

Good review dude. One thing I think you bring to the table that other KZfaq reactionists don't is that you seem to be able to separate the style and nuances of the film's time period from the actual critique of the film, which I appreciate. So many reaction videos of older movies center around joking about the outdated style and special effects as if these people are somehow superior by virtue of the fact that they simply live in a more modern time period. It's very annoying but you seem to see through that. Keep up the great reviews!

The oddest thing is that there was a sports store in the town but it was dedicate to Kidderminster FC for some reason 😂 The entire store was decked out in Kidderminster jerseys, scarfs and banners.

This is one of my favorite vampire movies of all time. Here's some vampire movies for you to react to Near Dark(1987) Bram Stroker's Dracula (1992) Interview With The Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) Fright Night (1985) 30 Days Of Night (2007) Byzantium (2012) Daybreakers (2009) Let The Right One In(2008)

This movie rocks. Always has, always will. A great cast, kick ass soundtrack, and some sweet scares. Another great Joel Schumacher film is 1993's Falling Down. React to that some time.

My favorite Gen X vampire movie! My auntie made me watch this all the time when she had to babysit me when i was in 1st grade and she was in high school. Also, even as a first grader, i always thought it was so crazy that three little 14-15 year olds thought they were just gonna roll into a sunken hotel and kill a bunch of grown ass vampires with a couple wooden stakes lmao

Weird little piece of movie trivia: Julia Roberts was actually engaged to Kiefer Sutherland during this time and ended up leaving him for Jason Patrick (guy who plays Michael) days before they were supposed to get married. But that relationship didn't last either apparently 😅

Not sure if you've seen the OTHER vampire movie from 1987, NEAR DARK, but its equally great, in a completely different way. Almost plays out like a dark western. Directed by Katherine Bigelow (Point Break, Hurt Locker) and starring a good chunk of the cast of Aliens (including a psycho Bill Paxton).

This is one of my favorite Vampire films. It's both funny in a kinda cheesy way, it had cool music, and you had a hot guy as the older brother, in Jason Patrick. If you didn't happen to notice from the big poster in the cave, Jason back then had uncanny resemblance to 60's Rock icon- Jim Morrison. Jason's Father was an actor for some time, best known for the Italian Priest who helped co-exorcise the girl in- The Exorcist. Jason went on to do various films and still acts. (Google his films) Dianne Weist is a well known actress in both movies and Tv, Keifer Sutherland is a very well known actor of both movies and Tv, and his Father is acting icon- Donald S.,and KS half brother is also an actor. The actor who was- the Head Vampire, is a long time acting icon also. He passed I think just last year. Oh and so glad you didn't cut the bathroom scene with Nanook knowing something was wrongly going on with the older brother. That is my absolute most favorite scene of the whole movie. 💗 that Malamute!😁

Iirc, there’s been a remake in the works for a few years. So, I just looked it up & it turns out the director that wants to do it is Robert Eggers, of The Northman & The Lighthouse fame. Could be very cool.

Such a great '80s vamp-flick. Lovely reaction too, mate, it's been a while since I've watched this. The cast is pretty stellar. Jason Patrick is in a harsh and cold thriller called NARC with the recently deceased Ray Liotta that I highly recommend checking out. Poor Corey's story is worth reading up on if you want to understand the true price of becoming a famous child actor back in the day. And the legendary Dianne Wiest. Double Oscar winner, known for Edward Scissorhands, Parenthood, Little Man Tate, it goes on. And it's only just occurred to me though that the 'S' in BOYS on the cover isn't lower case, it hasn't alternated. And that is really aggravating me now.

New subscriber because of this video! I’ve already left a comment about seeing this movie, the day it was released…. Now let me give you the rundown on a few things about The Lost Boys…. #1- it was one of several movies, that starred best friends Corey Haim & Corey Feldman. Or as they were known in the 1980’s: “The 2 Corey’s.” They were also in: Dream A Little Dream & License To Drive, together. They were best friends, the had a falling out, whe Corey Haim became addicted to crack in the 1990’s. He would eventually die in his 30’s. Corey Feldman would go on to claim that both he & Corey Haim were molested by several people in Hollywood. They also has a short-lived, 2 or 3 season reality tv show, called “The 2 Corey’s,” in the early 2000’s. #2- Joel Schumacher changed the whole premise to this movie, when he became the director. He called it THE LOST BOYS, in reference to the Lost Boys of Peter Pan- who never grow up/grow old. #3- Corey Haim, Brooke McCarthy- he played the vampire with long, blonde hair that died in the bathtub-, Billy Wirth- he played the vampire with long, dark hair, that “Sam” (Haim) killed with the arrow & stereo-, Ed/Edward Herrmann- he was Max-,have all passed away. As has Joel Schumacher. #4- Back in the 1980’s when children went missing, they put their pictures on milk cartons. Hence, that’s why Laddie was on one. He was missing, since he was now a vampire. #5- This was the first movie/horror movie to ever say anything about “inviting a vampire into your house.” In this, it rendered you powerless, against discovering their true nature. Then my all time, favorite tv show, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, changed it around- well technically the movie did it first! Which ironically starred Kiefer Sutherland’s-who was “David” the blonde, mullet haired vampire- father- Donald Sutherland, as Buffy’s- not THE Buffy! The one in the movie was played by Kristy Swanson! She SUCKED!!! THE Buffy is Sarah Michelle Gellar, from BTVS the tv show- watcher- anyway, they made it so a vampire couldn’t enter your home, unless they were invited. Ok! Now I sound like a crazy lady but, I absolutely LOVE this movie- and I LOVED your reaction! So you got a new subscriber, in me! Can’t wait for more content! You should do a 2- Corey’s movie binge!

I've been waiting for you to get to this one. An absolute classic. I wouldn't worry about the sequels though. I only watched half of the second movie and stopped. It doesn't have the same feel or tone of this one. It just feels like a C-Grade late 2000's film. And I don't know if I've missed it, but what happened to your reaction to Identity?

@MovieFusion, most people tend to forget about the book Carmilla, which is an 1872 Gothic novella by Irish author Sheridan Le Fanu and one of the early works of vampire fiction, predating Bram Stoker's Dracula by 26 years. We actually had a lesbian (at least heavily implied lesbian) vampire novel in the 1870's, which is just fascinating.
