When Leslie Nielsen passed, ESPN published an obituary for the legendary umpire/opera singer, Enrico Pallazzo. It was surprisingly heartwarming and I think Leslie Nielsen would have loved it. Also, Leslie Nielsen was a one of a kind comedian that is missed, but not forgotten.

They used to harvest pistachio nuts by waiting for them fall off the tree and gathering them off the ground. This made the shells all stained and awful looking so they would stain them a bright red - a dye that easily wears off. Since then, they have devised a mechanical way to harvest them, a machine that grabs the trunk and shakes it so all the nuts fall off at once. And since, they are sold unstained, in their natural soft tan-brown color. (Most younger people are so far removed from the old style of pistachio nuts, they don't get the joke.)

A college roommate of mine described baseball as 10 minutes of action packed into 3 hours. As our reactors noted, the movie's pace slowed down after a strong start. The entire time spent at the ballpark did drag a bit for its joke rate, somewhat like the game itself. Yes it is funny, but not as quick and intense.

The show _Police Squad_ might be even more up your alley. Same characters (though Ed and Nordberg are played by different actors), same writers (so same humor), but smaller doses, and the jokes are more _Airplane!_ rapid fire pace. Great celebrity guest stars, too. This movie has some meta humor about the show. For instance, everything in Frank’s fridge is expired, and his freezer isn’t defrosted because _Police Squad_ ended in 1982, so he hadn’t been back to his apartment again until 1988.

Missed you guys. Nice to have you back. That was so funny. The part when Ash explained to Hannah about the banana and she finally got it, and Hannah's reaction to the pillow in the face had me crying with laughter. Brilliant

23:34 I started laughing so hard, from Hannah’s gagging to her asking “is he drinking it?” Mid gag had me giggling like a little girl lol

You both have a great chemistry & are funny, it adds something special to your reaction. You're also the first reactors to this movie that recognize the names of some of the dictators at the start. Nicely done. Have a nice day, & I'll watch what else you have on your channel.

FYI, the player who tried to assassinate the Queen was an actual Major League player. Reggie Jackson is a Hall of Famer who got the name "Mr. October" for his World Series heroics . . . and he was on five world championship teams in his career.

The first scene and Ash's reaction to it are absolutely legendary. Yet not showing the exploits of Enrice Palazzo hurts my soul.

Leslie Nielsen was 62 when this movie was made, which sounds old, but is about the same age Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are now. He was still in great shape, an avid golfer, though his hair turned white in his 40s which made him appear older. Also interesting: He was legally deaf from childhood and used hearing aids except on camera.

The moment when Ash said it at the end, I also became unsure if the actor is dead (whoops 😅 ). But I just googled it and yes he is, died in 2010. RIP

The bad guy, Ludwig was played by actor Ricardo Montalban, who was born in Mexico. He's most well know for playing Mr. Rourke, the white tuxedo wearing host of the comedy/drama show Fantasy Island from 1977-1984. His other most famous role is Khan from both the classic Star Trek episode Space Seed, and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The baseball player who was turned into an assassin was played by actual baseball legend Reggie Jackson. I never watched baseball either, but he was famous enough that I knew who he was. Not only are there two other movies in this series, but as this movie's name suggests, this was based on a short-lived TV show called Police Squad! which also starred Leslie Nielsen. There's only six episodes and a lot of the jokes were recycled into the movies, but it's still worth watching. Also, the movie Wrongfully Accused, which is a spoof of The Fugitive (you should watch that first) is the same kind of comedy, also stars Leslie Nielsen, and almost feels like it could have been one of the Naked Gun films.
