Revolver Ocelot Method acting is when an actor does something that the other actors doesn’t know will occur in order to get a more genuine reaction from them. So the whole screaming at Denny thing isn’t something Denny’s actor knew would happen, which made it easier for him to express the character’s fear

I remember hearing or reading somewhere that The Room was originally meant to be acted out in a stage play rather than a movie (I imagine the movie route was just more convenient). It was also supposed to take place entirely - or almost entirely - in a single room, thus the title. This would also explain why the characters are constantly just waltzing into Johnny's house unannounced, since that's generally how it would look if presented on stage. They're basically "entering/exiting stage left/right" the entire time. Thus the bizarre and jolting way everyone just sort of bursts into/out of any given scene.

This is one of the funniest commentaries you guys have done in awhile! (And I've enjoyed all of them a lot.) I was howling with laughter, your reactions were priceless. You should definitely read the book Greg Sestero ("Mark") wrote, there's so many amazing little anecdotes packed in there about his friendship with Tommy. And of course, all the insanity that went down while trying to make the movie. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but they went through three full crews by the end of shooting. Tommy fired the entire crew, not once, but TWICE! And also, the entire thing was shot on 35mm film and HD video simultaneously, because Tommy thought that was cutting-edge. Like, he had a special rig built to mount two cameras side-by-side, for the entire shoot. And the kicker is, none of the video footage appears in the movie.

the fact that the editors didn’t overlay the credits over the shots so they just slapped a bunch of black screens between shots and then suddenly overplayed it

Casually stumbled on this channel the other day with their Final Destination episode and I've just been marathoning this whole channel. It's like MST3K but not as hokey, it's just two dudes instead of a dude and his two robots.

I like to think that the editing you guys did for this video was better than the editing for the actual movie
