By all accounts, Loki is just older than 1,000 years old when he finds out he's "adopted". As an adoptee myself, I can understand his issues but on the other hand a couple who has raised you for a millennium are your real parents.

Darcy was played by Kat Demmings who is known for her long run on the TV show 2 Broke Girls, and is a riot whenever she turns up in a Marvel movie! Loki is a classic anti hero.

Thor's powers are weather related, as well as super human strength and durability. He can also use his hammer to fly by throwing it hard and holding on to the tastle at the end of it's handle.

Saving an abandoned infant from certain death is rescuing, not stealing. Loki wasn't safely tucked away in a cradle. He was discarded, like garbage, probably because of his small size.

I won't say what happens with him over the course of his time in the franchise, I'll just say that he is an amazing character, and Tom Hiddleston really does just... bring SO much to the performance. What all the MCU movies share in common is a deep respect and dedication to the craft. The Marvel version of Thor etc. is based on Norse mythology. There are obviously differences particularly Loki. He was not adopted by Odin but was his blood brother. He was half giant his father wasca god amd his mother a giant named Luffy. Loki was possibly the original binary sexual being. At one point he transformed into a female horse, got pregnant, and had an eight legged horse which became Odin's steed.

Thor was directed by Kenneth Branagh. He adapted Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing for the movies during the 80s and 90s. Odin collapsed in the scene with Loki because he had put off the "Odin sleep" for a long time so he was weakened. The Odin sleep is a time of regeneration that Asgardians, especially the royal family, does periodically to regain their power. Also Asgardians are weakened by powerful negative emotions, it's sort of like their kryptonite.

To start, Loki is the god of mischief. If you recall, that was his main motivation for letting the frost giants in, the first time. He just wanted to spoil Thor's special day. Typical jealous little brother. Disagree that Odin stole Loki; more like rescued him. Imagine being full grown and finding out you were adopted. Worse yet, you're a different race, literally. Add that to the jealous little brother issue, and things begin to make sense. Even though he felt betrayed by Odin's deception, he still loves him. Go back and watch his reaction when Odin collapses in the trophy room; recall that Loki is terribly angry just then. Odin collapses, and at first Loki approaches his father with hands spread, as if to finish the job, but a look of panic & uncertainty cross his face, and he calls frantically for help. That's why he let Laufey into Asgard the second time. Loki planned to kill him, to prove to Odin he was a worthy son. He wanted to destroy the frost giants realm as an act of rejection, to show that he's a true Asgardian. He ended up letting go at the end, but in a later movie (tiny spoiler) says he was thrown into the abyss. The director was Kenneth Branagh, known for his fantastic Shakespeare performances. That fits in quite well with the spirit of the movie. I especially recommend his Much Ado About Nothing, Shakespeare's version of a romcom. Branagh cast Keneau Reeve and Denzel Washington, among other American actors, and it works quite well.

Just a quick note: I did not see “Good Will Hunting” in your viewed videos… is it in the viewing plan? It’s an excellent film. Thor is possibly at the Top of my list or 2nd, behind Iron Man. The MCU films are all great, but each individual character film gives us more insight into the individuals. All Hero’s together, in the Avengers line, give insight into their struggles of learning to work as a unified team. Both directions are great in the character, and team, struggles and strengths.

You aren't wrong. Usually there are sounds of paper flipping in the marvel intro graphic. But not every movie has it. So your instinct was right. It always feels wrong to me when there is no paper flipping sound effect.

The "Warriors Three" were supporting characters in the comics, but they don't exist in actual Norse mythology. Volstagg the Voluminous (here, he's the tall one with the beard, but in the comics, he's fat), Fandral (the "Robin Hood"/Erroll Flynn type), and Hogun the Grim (in the movie, he's Japanese? But in the comics, he's just a dark-haired white guy - after all, ancient Scandinavians didn't have any Asians or black people in their mythology - they didn't even know such people existed. All the Norse gods looked like the Norse people.) They are based on Shakespearean characters from King Henry V. Notice that "Volstagg" is similar to "Falstaff".
