One thing many people miss about this movie is that Israel was actually letting Palestinians into Jerusalem because “every person we save is one less zombie we have to fight.” I just loved that sight of Israelis and Palestinians working together to survive. Something I wish was happening right now with what’s going on today.

Another Zombie film is "The Girl With All the Gifts" (2016). But I would also recommend the 2007 sequel to 28 Days Later: "28 Weeks Later". I assume Magy has already seen "28 Days". The sequel adds another intensive look at the Infected and those who are trying to survive.

Magy/Laura: zombies are slow in the Walking Dead ( called walkers) which is based on a comic of the same name but inspired by George Romero’s 60’s movies. But the modern trend in this movie as well as the TWD spinoffs is to supercharge them to elevate the threat. Glad you liked it, ladies, good reaction 👍🏻

Awesome reaction as always ladies. So in regards to the second movie, there were plans to make it with Brad Pitt returning and David Fincher was going to direct it. Because this movie cost $190,000,000 to make, the most expensive ever for a horror movie and with the second movies budget rising during pre production to well over $200,000,000, the follow up ended up being cancelled and there are no plans to redevelop it which sucks because this one is really good

Crazy thing is, I've read one of the early drafts of this movie's script, and it says that originally the zombie virus started in China, not South Korea, like in the movie. The reason it was changed was because the real-life Chinese government found out about that part of the script and complained, so the movie company got the screenwriter to change it. This was before Covid-19, mind you. So, I think this was someone's idea before it became a reality. I don't think the Chinese government complained because it made their country look bad, but because of what could possibly happen due to the Wuhan Lab, and you know what, life imitated art.

It really is amazing how a movie that had SO MANY behind the scenes problems turned out to be such a banger of a zombie movie, especially since it has almost nothing in common with the original source material written by Max Brooks.

Funny story, the movie was based on a book of the same name. In the book the virus starts in China. The writers changed that detail in order to show the movie in China. However they did not realize that Brad Pit was already banned in China. 😂😂 Watch "Seven Years in Tibet".

The Novel "World War Z" was a masterpiece of Science Fiction. It was presented in the form of an "After Action Report" of the Zombie Apocalypse. The narrator details the trials several dozen groups of people had gone thru in order to classify and Cure the Virus. The book was written by Max Brooks, Son of venerable director Mel Brooks.

These are probably the most realistic iteration of zombies, since they're infected with a variant of the rabies virus. This does lean into the reanimation trope though, with the unburnt parts of incinerated bodies still moving. But otherwise, these are relatively healthy individuals with their adrenaline redlined, going absolutely berserk. If you take away self preservation and replace it with adrenaline-fueled rage and hunger, you get these zombies. Freaky.

I think this movie in my personal opinion reigns supreme above most zombie movies , the ideas behind this movie is so diverse and unique in comparison. The zombies are fast where in pop culture most tend to be slow , thus raising the danger and the overall fear that these creatures bring to the table . This movie shows the government/scientific side of a zombie apocalypse where most zombie themed movies follow a small group of survivors and it’s always heavily implied the government is gone and no longer exists , but this movie provides the opposite , the government isn’t only actively fighting to find a solution but they actually do end up finding one.

As someone who read the book before watching this film in theatres, I was a bit disappointed. As a standalone movie, it is fine, but there was such a radical departure from the novel that the only real connection is the title. I understand why, the book itself is basically a series of interviews. Had an adaptation been thought of later, it would have probably would have been more faithful as a streaming series. I highly recommend the book though, I read it at least once a year.

Good action/zombie movie; Bad book adaptation. The movie depicts the beginning of the war. In the book, The War (That took decades to fight) has been over for 10 years, and a guy from the UN goes around the world, collecting testimonies of people who lived through the war (Civilians, Military Personnel, Governement Officials, Medical Experts, ect...). Some are horrifing, some are down-right just sad. Great read. Highly recommend.

In 1984, there was a book published called _The Good War: An Oral History of World War II,_ by Studs Terkel. It chronicles his journalistic travel to various parts of the world to interview people who fought on various fronts in that particular war. In 2006, the book, _World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War_ was an attempt to capture the same experience, fictitiously, in the wake of a future war against the undead, again, from a journalistic perspective. It was _very_ different from the movie. The only common character from one scene to the next, in the book, was the journalist who was asking people what had been the experience, fighting on their particular front. The movie did not do justice to the book and I happen to think a franchise that does justice to it could still be made, but not just a single movie. There's _way_ too much to the book for that. The book easily relates a _miniseries_ worth of material.
@JeffGes
@JeffGes 23 күн бұрын
Studs fictionalizes way too much of the 'tales' in GOOD WAR (ie, including conversations from people who died in battle - odd how they can give interviews or someone's taking notes over their shoulder-!!). Much better to read historians like John Toland, H. P. Willmott...

It's like...I CAN'T, i can't! I'm from Italy. Once in a while, during the night time after hard days of work etc. I come to check from new reactions from USA, also known here in Italy as the country of the worst crimes against humanity who support genocides & mass murder of women & children & the country with a demented president. But, after having watched the reactions on very good movies such as "the good, the bad, the ugly"; "Rambo, first blood", "shawshank redemption", "forrest gump" or "apocalypse now" i look up for International masterpieces from all around the World, very great movies: pure art, well known here, but at the end of the day i found no trace of them. What i found it's a huge, gigantic flow of pure trash: an endless list of senseless movies from Hollywood; the most disgusting parade of the decadence of US' movies' production. An endless list of improbable movies, & when you look up in their contents & scenes you find the biggest displace of lack of contents, lack of art, lack of talents, like of meaning, lack of common sense, lack of anything who could suggest the hand of an intelligent being. So, with great disappointment, i scroll dozens of titles woke ramblings, indecent CGI, senseless screenplays, pathetic & very expensive unlikely trash movies. Raise your sight. The World isn't just the proud, hypocrite Country you live in (USA). There Is so much more. In order to captivate the World, leave the very narrow US' mindset you have. I am so disappointed.
