Protests have resumed in Kenya, as the discontent mounts against President William Ruto, despite his U-turn on the proposed tax hikes. Ruto agreed to scrap the contentious Finance Bill and called for dialogue following deadly protests. However, some protesters are sceptical and demand Ruto's resignation. Kenyan police fired rubber bullets and tear gas at demonstrators in the capital Nairobi, as they hit the streets again on Thursday. Security remains heightened in the Kenyan capital with roads to the presidential palace blocked.

Will maybe if your people so-called protests and what is seen on TV didn't act like crazy people on drugs and hoodlums and by videos I've seen going around attacking the police you wouldn't get shot at if you continue to play stupid games absolutely the police has a responsibility to put stupid people down when they threatened the stability of the country. I have yet to see on any TV broadcasting actual protest all I see is people yelling and screaming nonsense acting like their own drugs wanting to call for the overflow of a government that doesn't understand if you talk on the government it thinks will only get much worse or it happened in Egypt it happened in Lebanon it has happened everywhere. Never has toppling a government ever produced things getting better in the country it always cost a total economic collapse.

It us the people to blame ourselves! We go to borrow under the pretext of developing our countries, but most of these loans are looted by the ministers, and other government officials! The debt is pushed to the ordinary citizens by forcing them to settle the debt, while government officials live in opulence! Definitely we need to hold our leaders accountable for the trail of mess they create for an ordinary citizen.

@@Hardin9 Alot of people go looking for opportunities in Arab and or Gulf states because of the economic situation and lack of opportunities at home. These are mostly low skilled labor jobs. Majority of these people wind up in pure slavery conditions, their passports are confiscated, women are raped and pimped out, they endure alot of torture, some are not even paid for their work and can't escape. This is not headline news but alot don't make it. With oil coming from Saudi Arabia, the Kenyan government just turns the other side awaiting for the body bags to arrive at JKIA. If the politicians would fix country, these people would never leave home to go working in slave conditions. People are relying on remittances from family members abroad instead of the government fixing its own house.

@@Wezzie0 Do you have any citation for what you're claiming? Granted this is of course anecdotal, so with that disclaimer out of the way. I know someone from Kenya 🇰🇪 who is currently living in Dubai🇦🇪, she signed a contract with an employment agency, she is working as a manager at a restaurant, and living in a studio apartment, she travels to and from work every day by train, she is not experiencing anything remotely like what you're talking about in Dubai. Prior to her living in Dubai, she lived in Qatar🇶🇦 for three years on a work visa, three year contract with an employment agency, she was a manager at a hotel there. Employment Agencies from those Arabic countries recruit a lot from Kenya and Uganda 🇺🇬 because those are countries with Fluent English Speaking people close enough to their countries (4 hour flight on average) that they can pull from for jobs where they desperately need English speaking people. That's because the NATIVE populations of those countries don't speak English, and English is the #1 universal language, and those countries make a lot of their wealth off of tourism, so they need all the English Speakers they can get in the hotels, restaurants, casinos, etc......, and that's something they are not able to get from their native populations. She is there because she helps support her young brother who is in Boarding School in Kisii City or County I forget which, and she helps support her mom, and she's making more money in Dubai than she would be able to in Kenya. So that aspect of her story does support your argument, because she is making a whole lot more money working in Qatar, and Dubai than she would be able to living in Kenya working the same kind of jobs that she normally does. Again I realize it is anecdotal, but I'm counting it as evidence because this is someone I personally know who is from Kenya, and has lived in Qatar, and is currently living in Dubai, and has not experienced anything like what you're talking about in either of those two countries. She has known plenty of other people from Kenya and Uganda in Dubai, and Qatar living on both of those countries under the same circumstances as herself, and none of those folks have been returned to Kenya or Uganda in body bags as you're suggesting, nor been working for pimps, nor been taken as slaves. And Dubai is a Feminist shit hole just like the West, on their passenger rail trains they have female only cars, they have hotels only for women in that country so I really doubt anything that you suggesting is happen to women in that country or Qatar. So again I ask you, do you have any kind of citations for what you are claiming about Arabic Countries?
