Pakistan spends like 8% of budget on Military. If that was outrageous, the budget is not earned via tax but borrowed. So, when they now cannot borrow more, instead of cutting the military, or cutting expenses, they want to squeeze the public with taxes. I know Indian politics is not some clean white dhoti, but no one would dare to squeeze the public to keep their excesses funded. In India the corruption is about skimming the top. I only see one way for this weird system to be shaken out of its roots. Land reform like the one that was imposed in India. Limit the max land one/family can own. My family were land owners and I still think it was one of the best things to have happened to the country despite our family getting dispersed because of it. It empowers more of the population to be their own decision makers. More to actually vote this system out.

O bhai its pressureized tetra pack milk which cost 370 per liter ..which used by not more than 5 percent pakistani..the others pakistani used normal bhains cow ka milk cost 200 per litre .70 usd which is same or less than indian milk price ..so its not a big deal for pakistanis can afford 370 per litre who used that tetrapack milk..so dont worry baby..n flour atta price now on cheaper side n its 80 to 90 rupee pr kg now which also cheaper than india ..so beta rotay raho...

@@FarhanTahir-wq9oy Good for you. Why should I cry ? Packaged pasteurised buffalo milk with 8% fat is still sold for under ₹ 50/- per litre. Cow milk with lower fat is even cheaper. Even 1 litre tetra packs are sold for under ₹90/-. I don't know what the wheat price is because I don't consume wheat. I consume only millet flour sold for around ₹ 45/- per kg.

Pakistan's milk price (1.33$) is not that far away from India's milk price(0.9$) as media is projecting it. It's not that big difference. Essential goods will definitely face more inflation compare to non essential but difference is not that big. It's not exponential difference

In a country where even on a PPP basis, people earn 9 times that of India and the milk prices (and many other food item costs) are comparable, that is insane. My point is -India needs to invest heavily in its infrastructure and industrial output among others, bringing down the cost of goods (significantly!). We should stop looking at failed states like Pakistan for false validation. Are we trying to say we're just better than the failed states? Hope the message in my initial comment is more clear.

I said full cream, there in the US it is mostly toned or double toned, also their consumption market is 3 times less than India's is, hence they are exporting milk products even to India, they are in surplus. 2. In India if you talk about toned milk it is around 36 to 40 rupees. Secondly they don't consume as much milk products as we do whether it be ghee, curd, direct milk etc, may be butter and cheese but but not as much as the daily Indian household for teas and coffees, direct milk etc. 3. When you talk about infrastructure, it is a supply chain cost, not the production cost and that tto has improved a lot. Our commercial and per capita household consumption of milk is almost 3*3 almost nine times compared to a US household (speaking population Size and daily consumption wise) also take into the consideration the commercial establishments like roadside tea stalls and other hotel establishments. 4. So taking demand to production ratio we are far far far better than even than US when comparative cost and consumption/demand analysis is taken into account 5. And no way my intention is to compare our country to Pakista but I was rebutting to a comment which was trying to compare our county's milk costs to a smaller market and just a bland cost comparison.

We spent ten days in Karachi and Sukkur in Feb. 24. One thing we found impressive was how cheap the food was. Two of us had great meal at Cholachi restaurant for $20., same at Barbaque Night, Sindhri in Sukkur. Even food at Marriot was reasonable. Dollar goes a long way in transportation by car. By comparison food prices in India, Singapore, Australia, Europe and U S is outrageous. E,g in Brisbane okra was $16 or INR 1000 per kg,, 1 mango is /$6.

Don't be misled by this report. The tax is only on packaged milk, which is consumed mostly by the rich and the upper middle class. Fresh milk, which is not only the healthier choice, but also consumed by a vast majority of people, still costs 180 per liter.
