Although they did use quite a bit of tuning on this song. (idk why she doesn’t really need it) auto tune doesn’t change the tonal quality of your voice.

Occasionally she does stretch it too much in my opinion (mostly on 3 or 4 year old recordings) where a key change would play to her strength, but I'm not counting this one among those, I think it makes the MOST sense here for her to stay in the same key and stretch just a little low for the first verse and everything else fits her range best.

@@brianmckennamusic9434 I don't know why they use it either. Compare this one to their cover of sweet child o' mine, and a live version of the same. They're both excellent. For this one, change the key if needed, few will notice. But people will notice the over production. This said, still love them.

"Life Is a Highway" is a song by Canadian musician Tom Cochrane from his second studio album, Mad Mad World (1991). The song became a number-one hit in Canada in late 1991. "Life Is a Highway" also peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1992 and reached the top three in Australia and New Zealand the same year.

@@bear_hardy2118 Rascal Flatts covered the song on the Cars soundtrack (pixar movie). i also have no idea why they're calling it a rascal flatts song or even calling it country b/c afaik rascal flatts did a pretty straight cover of the 90s anthem. rascal flatts is a country group. it didn't sound "country" to me, but I'm not a music guy. maybe there's a technical reason? /shrug

This video just perfectly summarises why I'm obsessed with this band. Discovered you guys January this year and I've unashamedly played you obsessively. The small intricacies in the instruments and Audra as a whole is just perfection. When Audra shows her positive, bubbly personality it just makes you want to move and rock out just like her. The whole band produces such an infectious sound that starts with Audra and it's impossible not to dance along. You guys know how to do the best covers.

Yeah, this should be credited to Tom Cochrane, not Rascall Flatts tho. Maybe the younger generation first heard the cover version in Cars, but it was actually a hit song long before, which is why it was included in Cars in the first place. Most anyone who was around in the 90's would know the original.

Ok, Audra's rock progression is undoubted. But what about Matt? I have a very similar feeling with him to the one I have always felt with John Anthony Frusciante. In each new album he pointed out flashes of his mind-blowing creativity. So many to dream that in the next Concert he will explode that wonderful guitar... Like a great excitement that never reaches orgasm but always seems to be very close to it. Matt, please let go without brakes! 🤘

I actually liked all 3 versions of this song: Tom Cochrane, Chris LeDeux and Rascal Flatts. Personally, the Chris LeDeux version of this song is my favorite. I hope to, one day hear you cover his song Cadillac Ranch. Y'all did a phenomenal job with this cover.
