I'm a Jamaican American, and lemme tell you. Guyanese waters are blessed. Fish is Guyana is big like people. I watch some of the Guyanese fish market videos and can't believe my eyes. I don't know what is in those waters mek di fish dem nuff and big so. Mi bloodclaat ! No west indian island got fish like Guyana. But they truly are south American and not west indian even though all of the west indies consider Guyanese people west indian. Seem like all the fish in south America is huge. Brazil even more wicked. 🐟.

True thing, and yes we consider ourselves a part of the West Indies because of the same backgrounds, even though geographically we are South American.

These guys work really hard. Thanks for bringing us on this journey. When I was a hydrographic surveyor, I spent months at a time on the Ocean working determining erosion and accretion along the whole of Guyana. Let the Captain know that I appreciate it. I'm showing some friends here in Canada what life is like back home. These fishermen feed the nation with their hard work. Cheers RNG for taking the risk to bring this way of life to us viewers.

I spent 2 years shrimping off the West Coast of Vancouver Island. On a good day, we pulled 20,000 lbs a day. Thats a 50 foot boat, 3 crew, total of about 30,000 lbs storage capacity. At one point we were getting $1.25 a pound. I was the lowest paid man at 7% of the catch. That was about $2600 every three days. Ahh..... when I was young.

Very informative...I also agree with many of the viewers that the fishermen must play their role in protecting the environment...keep all the trash and dispose properly when a shore...maybe an incentive should be given to fishermen who dispose of garbage and help keep the ocean clean
