So, interestingly about the Greenland shark, if I recall correctly from my admittedly surface level knowledge, it is a more recently discovered species due to it's habitat and low possibility of interaction, but we have discovered bits of polarbear, Caribou, and even dogs inside their stomachs, and diving researchers noted it basically has no fear of humans(again likely due to low interaction rate) and they think it might not be as "chill" a shark as it's slow swimming appearance might make it. But I could be wrong! Or more info could have been learned since I last saw! Also, Wolffish are kinda ugly, but apparently they are very friendly with divers. They are practically tourist attractions and love being pet and rubbing up on divers, and unlike the Moray eel, I don't think the Wolffish has "accidentally" taken off someone's finger. Love the videos! Keep it up!

@blackraven114
@blackraven114 2 жыл бұрын
The "harpoon" teeth don't actually leave the snail's proboscis. The whole point of being harpoon shaped is so you can hook onto your prey and pull them in. That wouldn't work if they shot it towards a fish unless the snail also evolved high tensile strength line. It's more like a spring-loaded hypodermic needle on the end of a very long and flexible tube.

2:00 That's actually a Humboldt Squid! I confirmed this by searching "humboldt squid" on google images and the first result was actually the exact same guys in the video with the exact same squid, which linked to a video with the exact footage used. The funniest thing besides the fact they just used incorrect footage, is that the giant squid (12m/39ft) is WAY bigger than it's humboldt relative (2m/6ft), so if their aim was to prove how "scary" the giant squid was, they actually DOWNPLAYED its huge size. I personally just chalk this up to laziness, similar to when they used footage of an angler fish instead of a fangtooth at 9:53

Interestingly about 90% of Greenland sharks have parasites on their eyes. It makes them loose their sight, but scientists have recently discovered that this actually benefits the shark as the parasite acts like a lure, attracting prey to the shark. The loss of eyesight also doesn’t affect them as much as you might think as they live in such dark conditions.

I think the scariest part of the megalalodon living at the bottom the of Mariana Trench is that it feeds on the Giant squid and as it eats the squid it squirts a special kind of ink that is white and sticky. This ink then floats to the surface and eventually makes its way to the shores and reefs where sea horses feed on the cum ink and shit out sweet golden sea honey in reef caves.

I'm pretty sure that's a Humboldt squid. It's definitely not a giant or colossal. As for whether they're dangerous. They haven't killed anyone but they have attacked fisherman (understandable) and divers. They are probably strong enough to kill in the water but you also aren't their food source. As far as I know, no human has ever seen a giant or colossal squid at their natural depth except through a remote camera. Of course, when dead or dying they can float to the surface but that's not what's shown.

Since he asked (I don't wanna come off as explaining something to someone who already knows) yes that's a parasite on the Greenland sharks eye! They're called Ommatokoita elongata and most Greenland sharks have at least one latched into it's cornea, munching away and blinding it

I just realized that if a Megalodon did exist, military efforts would be used to eradicate it due to how much of a negative impact it would have on the ecosystem. So even if you did argue that the Megalodon exists, it won’t for long, if it hasn’t already been wiped out.

"The giant squid is no exception." He literally starts a paragraph with this sentence. That's a subordinate clause that is not subordinate to anything. It's like I if I walked up to you said, "But it''s no spring chicken," out of nowhere and with no context.
