It is fascinating that if you look at some historical depictions of "sea serpents", particularly in Asia, a lot of them do share some commonalities with oarfish.

I just watched a video where the KZfaqr actually admitted to receiving more views and likes after introducing the "like/subscribe/notification" trope. It seems like it does work in some instances. Good example: my father isn't really tech savvy, in any sense of the word. After a KZfaqr he watches said that, and explained why it's important, he was like, "Ohhh, that's how they get paid. I like them, and I want them to continue making content..." and then he liked, subscribed, and commented... now he has regular phone calls with the guy and teaches him karate virtually. Reminders that express how others can help you aren't necessarily a bad/annoying thing. If it works, it works!

They mention the bell so that you get an email or even a notification on your computer or phone the moment something is uploaded. That way you can watch/like/comment on video right away before it gets buried under other uploads. Esp when someone uploads a lot and very regularly. The video can just get lost among other things and some viewers miss it so they don't watch it...ect.ect
