Adventure People Scuba Divers - We Had That! Before Star Wars figures dominated the toy market of the late 1970s, the 3 3/4" Fisher-Price 'Adventure People' were already on the scene. This video discusses the Scuba Divers set #353 which included two diver action figures, an orange and yellow raft, and 2 Scuba Tanks and was produced from 1976 until 1981.

Oh my gosh. I loved these toys as a kid. My favorite was the safari set. My second was the diver set. My diver set came with a boat and a rubber dolphin that you could squeeze under water, and shoot out through the blow hole. Any set that came with animals were the ones I got for Christmas. My mother was so very good to me. I think thats why I love Christmas so much as an adult. I still remember playing with them after all these years. Thank you for the happy memories.

This set was the only Adventure People I had growing up, but they were some of my favorites. I used the heck out of the orange and yellow raft even with my other G.I. Joes and Star Wars figures, and Becky was great to have as most toylines didn't include many female figures.

I loved these toys! I knew all their names. The red-haired mountain climber was Dick. I had the scuba team, the mountain climbers, the helicopter and a weird one: a news crew van with three figures, including in older, overweight guy in a shirt and tie. Perry White/editor? And annn no on-air cheesecake type. Came with a big rolling camera and some other stuff. I combined them all together, do they had access to each others’ accessories, depending on the mission. I still wish I had these. I loved that little helicopter design! I’ve tried to describe this line to friends and nobody seems to remember them. If not for seeing them talked about/shown online like this, I would’ve thought maybe I imagined it all.

The same figures were molded with yellow dive suits for the speed boat set (which I had as a kid). It ended up being my stand-in Falcon, as my parents never got me the Kenner one. The magic of FPAP was in the hands. Fisher Price made sure that almost every accessory could be used by almost every figure. Not something many other lines could say. Great vid!

That's a great point about the figures' hands and how all of the gear could be used by just about all of the figures! Someday I'd like to get one of those boats! I have the figures that go with it. :)

I loved my adventure people and am working on my collection currently. In doing research on these figures I found it awesome that one of my favorites from my favorite set was named Scott which is my name I have replaced him but am still working on the Park Ranger set as well as some of the others my friends and I had growing up. Not having a movie theatre close by us we most played with these more then our Tsar Wars figures which were generally left in side so they didn't get wet and dirty were Adventure people regularly had to washed after a good day of play
