We used stainless steel spoons with two treble hooks for northern pike in northern Minnesota back when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s ...My Finish grandfather said thats what they had when bait was harder to get for ice fishing. So it's clearly a older idea than you think. 💪😎

I think this is one of the best episodes ever this is so much fun to watch you catch such good quality fish and just a plain ordinary spoon that you would eat soup with that’s so cool I think you should use those lures all the time as a regular lure.

I actually think those spoons be great Drifting for halibut either with nothing on the hooks or maybe just a little slice of squid four cent. But yeah I would like to see maybe do a drift video for halibut with the spoons see how the action goes on there. And maybe even salmon downrigger.

That must be central coast Calif. or northward, shout out to all you Coastsiders! I had that idea way back near the century mark, I still have that spoon I made from a table spoon or a serving spoon. (It was not from the kitchen set, don't shoot me!) Nice day of spooning there! (I think kitchen spoons are an even older idea than when I tried it!) You guys KILLED IT!! Nice slug of a salmon right at the end!! Good job.
