Fishing a Tournament in Extreme Winds-Eastman Lake

Fished 3 events on Eastman Lake over the weekend. Bass 559 and CVKF on Saturday and Bass 559 on sunday. Didnt do too well on day 1 with only one scorable fish. Ended up calling the day short due to extreme winds. Almost flipped my kayak a few times getting caught offguard by some huge wakes. Day 2 was much better with winds being slightly lower. Fished slower and found a few fish that wanted to play.

As someone whose kayak is at the bottom of a lake currently.. the first 5 minutes of this video make me sick to my stomach with anxiety. Glad your safe. And glad your knowledgeable enough to know when its not safe!

Wow great victory despite the extreme conditions which could have been dangerous for even the most experienced angler. No one should ever lose their life fishing it should be enjoyable for all life time. Safety first should always be practiced at all levels. That’s some absolute crazy wind! The guy that capsized had a native slayer max. That’s what I have and I’m trying to sell it. It doesn’t feel very stable to me.

FYI either go with the waves or head first into the waves never let the waves hit you starboard or port side. It will take on water.

Yes sir, thats how i got back, it didnt look too bad at first then i had to zigzag back in. Had to ride against it then ride it in.

Just be ready for it. I flipped over in a creek in a deep pool. Wasn't fun. It was in the fall and water was cold.

Honestly i dont know. Wouldnt want to find out. But ive heard from people that after being submerged, the graphs wont power on anymore.
