I wasn’t going to comment but thought what the heck! Maybe he’ll read it. Lol I live in NW Florida where redfish are a dime a dozen. Snook are scarce (caught one here on accident). But I’ve always wanted to travel down and do exactly what you’re doing now. I love how you’re questioning everything and figuring them out. This is the kind of content that I crave! West coast inshore fishing is more about numbers To constitute a good day… On the east coast of Florida you catch 1qty 34 inch snook and it was a good day… You catch three or four fish it was a great day and they’re probably all 25 to 34 inches

Snagged yourself one of my favorite campsites in the area! Saw you on the way out that morning and thought "oh shit, I know that boat!" Was hoping you'd have some more luck than we have been recently, but it's the way she goes sometimes.

We stayed a few days in Everglades city last year and found a few trout and a snook. Def seems better in the summertime but I’ve only been once

I fished the Everglades with a guide last spring and it was fantastic! Went with Jake Turek out of Bud n Mary’s in Islamorada. I caught plenty of snook and Reds plus 2 small Tarpon.also limited out on some 16-18” mangrove snapper that I took home. Its beautiful out there but beware we saw 10-12 big ass salt water crocs just laid up on some of the beaches! They didnt move but def demand some respect!🤣😎

It’s been rough over there the past month or so. Cold weather has turned off the bite, but we still make it work just takes alot of casts. If you get bored your should try casting out some cut bait for sharks from that beach. We been catching a lot.

The Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands areas can be like shooting fish in a barrel one day and then it can serve up some humble pie the next. I've been on multiple trips from Goodland down to Lostman's and it's quite amazing what it can choose to serve up.

That one fish at about the 12min mark is indeed a Lizard Fish. I also like to call them “Pasco County Trout” or “CrackFish” 😅

Lizard fish for sure! We will use them live for striper bait in central NJ. Catch 2 or 3 each summer.

There are definitely more large fish on the east coast of Florida where you’re from then there is in the Everglades all the way up the gulf.. If you catch a 40 inch snook on the gulf coast, you’re holding a trophy of a lifetime.. If you don’t catch two over 40s a year on the east coast of Florida you had a bad year

There are plenty of 40+ fish to be caught on the gulf coast. Yes, the east coast has more and their fish are more aggressive but there are plenty up and down the gulf coast. The gulf coast is just a more technical fishery

Welcome to the west coast where fishing is HORRIBLE. Especially in the glades, seeing a slot snook is rare.
