Fishing & Exploring a WILD Coast in Panama during Hurricane (Wild Animal Rescue!)

In this episode, we're dealing with an extremely rare event for Panama: a large hurricane to the North is decimating us with winds and bad weather. But we're making the most of our time stuck on land by exploring the jungle behind Los Buzos... with some pretty wild animal encounters to keep us occupied. Then, we decide to just SEND IT as we head out into the Pacific with our little pangas in some gnarly conditions.

I'll always prefer fishing, but this one was a good change. Kind of like the lighthouse climb to close out the New Zealand trip. You should definitely check in on the capuchin every once in a while. Are there any freshwater fishing locations on Mr Palmer's land? It might be worth having something set up as a back up for bad weather days, even if it's just a pond with stocked fish.

Yeah, I totally enjoyed the land-based content with all the animals and locals; really cool and exotic (for me) environment. It actually was a lot more interesting than the usual guides taking clients out, doing their schtick. Also as an ex- guide, I appreciate how hard you guys work even on your so-called days off.

Man that water looked rough! You walking through the jungle brought back my visit there, back in the 80's Army days, we did Jungle Warfare training there, watch out for the black palm. And man, sleeping out in that jungle....spookey.

There is no hurricane in Panama haha. And there’s never has been a hurricane because Panama geographically sits very low in the Caribbean Sea. Enjoy Panama 🇵🇦 ☺️ Wish I was down there 😍

How come hurricanes can’t form in Panama?

Basically there's a band of about 10 degrees latitude around the equator where they don't hang out. Above that band, they spin one way, south of that band they spin the other way, but they don't go into the band. It's not IMPOSSIBLE, but it never happens. And it didn't happen this time, she was north of Panama. She was just so big that we felt the effects of the outskirts of the storm.

BTW those little Capuchins are cute but they can be mean little shits. I had one snatch the glasses off my face in a pet shop and try to cram them completely in his mouth. The pet shop owner had to wrestle the little fart to get them back. I was too embarrassed to complain about their mangled condition afterward. Hahahaha... meh.
