Live infront of the mark, grotto road. Happily make you a pulley mast to get a decent cod up.

Ahhh cheers Adam mate, Live two minutes away myself, haha don’t think I’d fish that spot ever again after it’s all fallen away…pretty scary to be fair..learned a lot from that session and managed to get a lump up north row on my Tod since, but I’ve always been intrigued by those pulley masts like

Honestly mate, i went back to fishing 30lb mono straight through for any kind of bait fishing, but especially on the rougher marks. Bite detection isnt as good, but landing them is much easier. Gutted for you... Few weeks though, they should be starting to show in good numbers, roll on winter
@geordieblanker11 ай бұрын
Yeah I've seen a few lads using mono on rough marks lately...think I just need to pick my tides better..wouldn't have happened on a 5m with the water covering the boulders...cheers mate..roll on winter

Also a rotten bottom attaching your sinker with lighter line works great, you'd lose the sinker but get the fish.

I usually use them mate....I just found I was loosing so many leads in the kelp in that first snag you get anyway when striking

The bad days make the good ones even better mate, unlucky with that one Maybe steady your reeling in once you gage the weight of it, and start pulling towards an easier pull up spot along the cliff edge (hindsight i know haha) but gaging the weight my dad always emphasised on it, and take a second once gaged and then go from there 👍

Couldn't have said it better mate.....I could have brought it 6 feet along to the left where there where no boulders...I could have cut my line off..tide it to the rail then walked down....hmmm take my time next time..not get so excited and think it through...just so hard after 4 hours of no bites haha..

@@geordieblanker i know mate i knew as soon as you went to pick the rod up, it was towards the end of the video and youd had nothing all day, i thought "hes excited hes gunna rush it" 😂 But honestly my dad getting me into the habit of weight gaging my line, helped me to think twice before pulling in etc, just a few seconds to calm the rush of adrenaline haha Next time mate you'll pull a big'un 🤙💪

Good video pal 👍looks like it's pretty rough going there but if it was me I'd go 30 lb varivas sport 💪hate braid for the rough,it's spoilt a few good marks I know making a massive ball of rigs, lead, hooks and fish.. might as well cast over a crab pot 🫣hope it makes sense 👍 all the best Lincoln from Heysham
@geordieblanker11 ай бұрын
Yeah I hear that more everyday now about using mono over braid in the rough...gonna have to look into it...cheers Lincoln mate I appreciate the advice

Great video I've seen loads of people fishing them cliffs but never tried myself. Is not possible to fish from the bottom of the cliffs
@geordieblanker10 ай бұрын
Thanks man...it is but you have to walk all the way from Marsden beach...and if you did that you have to fish the cliffs and low tide...and also those little rocks you see are actually enormous boulders so it's a nightmare walking around down there

A dont think it would snapped with 80lb braid on ya spool ya would of had more chance dragging it over and up and a told ya b4 ya went fishing the cliffs on a 4m tide the the sea dusnt come that far back to give you the extra push over the boulders if yano what a mean unluck kid
@geordieblanker11 ай бұрын
Aye the low tides where definitely the issue mate...should have fished along brick or somewhere further out
@insertpienow26 күн бұрын
OOF......hard to take anything positive from things like that....bar its character building.. i would not put any faith in an egg-beaters for fishing high spots....
@geordieblanker25 күн бұрын
Scary thing about that is that entire area iam standing on collapsed into the sea weeks later
@Jordan-pr9cx11 ай бұрын
I felt your pain when that snapped 😞 always next time mate one of my local marks get some cracking fish just bump into problem of getting them in 🫣
@geordieblanker11 ай бұрын
Aye jordan mate it's a nightmare.. to be fair I picked the wrong tides to be there and also 2 hours after high...so very slim chance of getting that fish over the rocks...I can put it all down to experience mate
