Fishing for Grunter & Mangrove Jack (Catch & Cook)

Жыл бұрынFirst time putting the boat in for 2023, our goal was to catch a grunter and a mangrove jack. We ended up having a really good day. Sorry its been so long between uploads, hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and New years.

Hahahaha I reckon there are guna be so many catfish around after all this rain we have had... might have a comp to see who can get the biggest one 🤣🤣🤣 as for the jacks we are definately working on it, hopefully we catch one next time 🤙

Don't throw the green backs back 😂😂 two of them on a hook is mangrove jack candy. That's like the Mangrove jack version of Lolly Gobble Bliss Bombs.

Hey Wombat thanks for watching, I'm glad our irregular uploads hasn't made you unsubscribe yet 🤣🤣🤣 but yes will definately be trying lures, we have joined a fishing comp this year and first target species is mangrove jack so we will be trying everything! Great to see you posting videos again girls! For jack's, try anchoring up current of structure like deep snags, rocky bottoms and bridge pilons especially at night and drifting a livie down into the stucture. if the bottom is really rocky, use your patanoster rig. Also ask hodgie, he is a jack whisper 👍

OK thanks for the advice, will also talk to hodgie, I know he is guna say we need to start throwing lures more though 🤣🤣 there's guna be alot of fresh running through the creeks around here after all that rain which is going to make it hard. Fingers crossed we can catch a few before our first fishing comp at end of this month, target species is mangrove jack hence why we are trying to learn more about them 🤙

what sized gear you using up there ?

Hey normally around a 3000-4000 size reel with 15lb or 20lb braid and a 30lb leader
